Jon - restool, stripres, and seg files...

Featured Replies

Jon, This may not be for me...Okay, I put all the files with all the tools, and still I get "0 files written."I look at the .seg file...it has stuff in it.But, even if I had all 9 files written, Resviewer wants to import a flight model with the extension .res, not .seg...What step(s) am I missing?Frustrated, being so close but so far,Dan

BUMP

Dan,A couple of things:Make sure your filename is short. I've said '8+3' before but Ansgar recommends 4-5+3 as a safer option. I only use 3+3 e.g. d8a.txt/d8a.seg etc. After creating your .seg file, you must convert it to a resfile using 'restool.exe'. This is the final step. Run 'restool d8a.seg' using the example above. It should then return '9 resources written'. You will now have a file called (eg) 'd8a.res'.After that, you should be able to import it via Resviewer ;)Don't worry abouty the frustration - that comes with the territory... Once past these few 'undocumented' hurdles, life gets a lot easier!:-waveJon Point*************************([email protected])*************************

Ughghhghgg!Jon, Thanks for all the help...I'll get this thing working yet! Okay, back to the drawing board. Your guess is that "mooney1.seg" etc is too long a name?Again, thanks for your patience and kind help...if I can fix the Mooney, I will certainly load the new flight model for all to install.Dan
