Getting clouds to follow sunsets

Featured Replies

Haven't posted here for a while. I have been playing with colours again, and am getting some very pretty sunset transitions from white horizons, gold (OK, yellow) to red. That's been done before, but now I'm getting the clouds to follow the changes and its been quite interesting. The shots here are a bit exaggerated - I use calmer settings when I'm flying long time since the reds are a bit too rich, but that's so that you can see the effects clearly. Penalty is still that at noon high clouds still pick up a bit of the haze scatter colouring and look a bit yellow compared with the lower white clouds. http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/53982.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/53983.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/53984.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/53985.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/53986.jpg

OK, I will try to do this, but these are just experiments, hoping to get some comments (thanks for yours!). Give me a few days. And Jon is also working on this - he might beat me to it!RobD.

Hehe ok. I can image how much work it must be to get the colors right, with such a limited palette. I never edited any FU files I believe - FS is a much better playground (and it needs the work lol). But I reinstalled FU3 a while ago, I really do think it's the most fun civil flight sim around. Good luck ;)-Daniel

Well glidernut's beaten me to it again - he has posted three versions of "cfg" files in response to Tinfish's request! Give his "cfg" files a try - he has included all of the recent work by Jon, himself and others. That will give me some more time to do experimenting!
