Luton again

Featured Replies

With Andy's agreement, Luton is ready for upload. I have made two versions, one for fast computers, one for slow, based on the post of a few days ago. The visual difference is not too obvious, but the framerate doubles. Given time and continuing interest in the forum, I hope to redo all of the earlier airports using this method, and this should result in big framerate improvements. I will upload as soon as I hear that a stable UKS is ready for release.RobD.

Rob,Please email it to me so I can check it out. Any more info you have (numbers) on the framerate effects would also be appreciated. I have been doing some experiments in Sanfran (hey, same palette...) and have some weird results, especially for models that span megatiles. Basically, spanning a megatile slows everything down immensly (like a 5-10 second freeze...). I have since split the model into 4 pieces and it loads very quickly now. Also, have you noticed that night-palette models load quicker at night? Same polygons, smaller palette but I noticed it (with the larger, more complex models anyway). Hmmmm. Transparency in both too!Anyway, check out the latest uploads - I'm getting all this stuff out to clear the way for some serious UKS time ;)Regards,**************Jonathan Point**************"I'd rather be down here wishing I was up there than up there wishing I was down here"
