Biggin Hill

Featured Replies

Three projects are all coming together at the moment:1) Biggin Hill, a new scenery package for the UKS region2) Southend, a joint project with Gary Evans3) Cowes, a smaller package (few new models), on Isle of Wight.I hope to release all three when the new terrain mesh is complete. All have been shared efforts: I use Jon's and agtim's models, agtim's terrain and landscaping, inputs from Andy on how to do things better, agtim's little programs for moving and fixing things. Also did I mention agtim's help (as beta tester). Hey, I did some of it x( Biggin Hill is more or less complete - I'll tinker a little until agtim is ready, hopefully also finish off the newbies posts, but soon you will have a new airport close to the city for those little commuter flights which show off FU3 scenery so well to guests! :) Here's some preview picks ...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/110720.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/110721.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/110722.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/110723.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/110724.jpgRobD.

Nice models, Rob ;)Love the brickwork! I've been working in concrete and steel (and aluminium) a lot recently so it's nice to see some decent mortar work going on in FU3 :-lolI also like how you use rows of trees to border ground textures - it creates a nice effect and creates the illusion (from the ground) of the high-res textures continuing into the distance. This was the key to Clare's Valley, as it exists in outer terrain with no choice of ground texture but once you're below treetop level, you wouldn't notice!:-waveRegards,**************Jonathan Point**************"I'd rather be down here wishing I was up there than up there wishing I was down here"

Jon, I'm a kleptomaniac. I'll steal ideas, scenery, Chinooks whatever from whoever I can. Just check you've still got your keyboard when you sign off.As to the brickwork, its the ratio that matters - 1 part sand to 2 cups water and 1 part sugar, mixed facing west, blended with essence of brick and baked until a golden HANG ON - got my cooking book here on the desk, spilt mortar on it and got the pages mixed up, darn, where's my trowel, ok gotta gothanks for your comments :-) RobD.
