I remember you, your username uset to be FlyBoy_75.I remember you teling us that you had 3dMax studio and that you Wanted to tryyour hand at building new planes for FU3,how far did you get?I am at that stage now, Iv just dun a glider for FU3, useing 3dMax studio.I see your chosen flight sims aircraft file format is (tgz), what is that?Tel me, is there a way to get that flight sims aircraft or its static modelsinto 3ds format? for posibl use in FU3?Regardsglidernut.

Hi glidernutYes I used to have 3dMax many moons ago - I have moved on to the Linux operating systemI dont know much about the aircrafts in FlightGearSorryRegardsShelton.

All,I tried out FGFS some time ago (Windows version) and, whilst I got it going OK, I never got around to investigating the building of things! I read about converting aircraft from MSFS but was happier flying the FU3 skies and developing stuff there. Now I have Linux as well, I could try it out there but it's a huge learning-curve for me at least ;) How is it progressing these days?...and I still use Anim8or for 3D models ;)

JonThis is from the FAQ:6.3 - How do I import planes from Microsoft Flight Simulator? You can import the 3D model and textures, but the flight dynamics (the .AIR file) must be completely redone for FlightGear. See http://home.t-online.de/home/Wolfram.Kuss/ for help importing .MDL files and textures. If you wish to import a model made with gmax, you will need to convert it to .MDL format using Microsoft's MakeMDL SDK which is available at http://zone.msn.com/flightsim/FS02DevDeskSDK08.asp. 6.4 - How do I import BGL scenery from Microsoft Flight Simulator? See http://chiangt.virtualave.net/BGL/bgl_index.html. 6.5 - How do I design or modify a panel? See the README.xmlpanel file located in the FlightGear/docs-mini/ directory of the source distribution. This document is mirrored at http://rockfish.net/fg/README.xmlpanel.source:http://www.flightgear.org/Docs/FAQ.shtml#6.3RegardsShelton.
