New Arrival!

Hi to everyone.Im Jamie and I've just discovered this website. Now that I have I dont think there will be much need for any other. Scrolling through all the forums (especially for FU3) has me foaming at the mouth and will probably result in a few late nights and excuses to the boss when I arrive late in the mornings!I have no formal flying experience but have been glued to FU3 since receiving it as a pressie at Christmas. I love reading about aviation and perhaps one day I will approach my local aerodrome with a view to gaining a PPL. One thing I've learnt is its never too late.FU3 is a wonder to play and although at first I would get occasional crashes to the desktop this was soon stopped completely by switching the 3D accelerator to ON!I'm a complete novice when it comes to aviation and although I've been putting in to practice tutorials on IFR and ILS with the BeechJet I really need to go back to basics with navigation and course plotting.Any tutorials or software that you can recommend would be great especially if it can be used in conjunction with FU3.Other flight Sim package recommendations would also be appreciated as I'm hungry to move on to bigger aircraft such as Concorde or Airbus A320.Many Thanks!

Welcome aboard,I guess Tom W. our esteemed leader will be along to add his own welcome soon.Yes, old though it may be the flight dynamics of Flight Unlimitedstill take some beating. We don't have any Airbus or Concorde, but if you want to drive an '18 wheeler' get the 747 from Avsim Flight Unlimited library, it flies right by the numbers.Take the time to read the pinned topics at the head of the forum, lots of useful and helpful tips there.:-wavePete

UKJamie,Welcome aboard,Youv been practice ILS with the BeechJet! You know mor than me then.If I carnt see where Im going I stay put.I dont use the wierles ither, I carnt fined eny good music on it,all I get is peopl shouting at me, espeshaly when Im bumping into other aircraft.glidernut.

Welcome along Jamie, hope you find what you need here or at least yell out when you can't so that others can help. I guess from your name you're from the UK, so don't listen to glidernut or you'll stay put all the time. Or is that Scotland where it rains all the time? The Beechjet is great, especially since it has the electronic cockpit and radar for navigation, and an easy waypoint system. But find out about planes developed here as well, the DC3, 747, Dash 8, Blanik glider, Hennie's planes, the cub etc. There's well over a hundred planes to choose from in the library and several of these also have electronic cockpits. But none of them have music on the wireless either ;)Here's some screenshots.Robert.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/145004.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/145005.jpgCoryton.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/145006.jpgSteep descent.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/145007.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/145008.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/145009.jpgNight landing.Hope you enjoy the sim!

Hello, JamieTo get the most out of the Beechjet, be sure to read this article, which also explains how to use the autopilot in all Flight III aircraft. Have fun! :-rotor http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds?$=main/special/bj400a.htm-Seadog
