Some OT glider things

Featured Replies

Reading the other day the message with the image posted about the glider made me decide to show some, hopefully interesting, stuff from the FSX glider. There is currently no motorised glider so one has to go with the tug aircraft. I also don't want to show things that might be too much of a comparison between the simulators, but I had in mind to show some different things in general. I also might add that the thermals and other glider effects, such as ridge and (air)wave soaring are very easily set and most enjoyable. Before I knew it 2 hours went past during image capturing before I even noticed my watch! :-) Regards to all, Pieter. The first image was taken on the runway after hiring the tug for a 1200ft lift:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/177028.jpgThe next is: airborne!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/177029.jpgAll went smooth and the cable is released (pulling yellow knob):http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/177030.jpgNotice the thermal spiral graphics activated, which can be switched to "natural" then it is most realistic to check the clouds and birds (yes!) spiraling. The last is just a combo image of the "hoops" one can fly as well as showing the transparent cloud, water and other effects such as the view looking left through the cockpit glass and slide window. There is also active water ballast levers to realistically dump water:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/177031.jpg

Pieter,Looks fun ;-) The thermal thingies remind me of FU1 - I wish we could get them back - and the windshield string. One day I'll get a better PC. I still get better mileage from FU3 than MSFS and I haven't even thought about FSX...I'm actually scared of FSX right now (and working on a different sim...) but maybe later in the year.Meanwhile, here's a couple of gratuitous FU3 shots showing me scouting London for some power station thermals :-lolhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/177078.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/177079.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/177080.jpgDidn't find any of course (Battersea was closed-down, pity). Lucky I had an engine :-rollRegards,Jon Point
