A small Salt Lake aiport (SLC ) update

Featured Replies

As I said a few posts ago, here is some tinkering I did at Salt Lake City airport. My FU2/3 has migrated without any new installation over quite a number of computer upgrades and it's still running strong. However the only problem I could detect was no runway numbers and I can't seem to get the ILS frequencies picked up. At least one has ground and tower control for landing and take-offs.Here I present a number of screen shots:Beforehttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/177838.jpgAfterhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/177839.jpgThe map and radio informationhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/177840.jpgThe lakehttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/177841.jpgPieter :-abduct

Pieter,Muuuuuch better ;)Are you using the same 'beacons.fld' file as when you made it? The ILS is in there. Maybe open the airport in FLED and see if the original ILS stuff is still there. If not, try to locate the old FLD file, or you might have to redo it. There was a "standard" beacons file being kept somewhere? I haven't played with ILS for a while, l'm a bit rusty :-rollRegards,Jon Point

>Are you using the same 'beacons.fld' file as when you made it?Ah ha! Rusty is not the word... I would not remember that even if I tried, but you are right!I also opened FLED, guess what?, thereafter FU would not start up beyond 35% then aborted with the craziest error I ever saw :-lol It only started when I removed SLC and the work folder FLED created.Guess it is the end for me with FU tinkering (and flying much), I will load it as I currently do, just once in a while for some fun not possible with others - but in general MSFSX is the way to go :-spam1Pieter :-bluegrab

Pieter, why don't you upload what you've got and some of us might take a look at it. I'm split between several sims, spreading myself thin but I always keep coming back to FU3. Hans Petter

Yes , we could put lights.fld(if you modified) and lines.fld in the airport folder and overwright .If you put signs on we need mod file.I uploaded a beacons .fld file for outer terrain a long time ago ,had done extensive work on ILS ,VOR,NDB. And it's still not complete CaptRolo

>Pieter, why don't you upload what you've got and some of us might take a look at it.Hmm, as I said it was not intended actually for uploading (I would never release something I wasn't completely satisfied with myself) - I think I lost the original changes I made to files that stored the lights and beacons, so that I don't have anymore - you are welcome to download it from Lab6088 at Cape Canaveral ;-), but the website wasn't updated for ages so you may wake a few bats :-bat(vampires?) over there...http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/Lab/6088/Pieter :-abduct
