December 19, 200718 yr I recently had a very nice person send me a patch to override the date check on FSS 0.8 for FU3. I have been trying to get in touch with the author, Dexter Kofa, to get permission to upload the file on AVSIM but I haven't been able to get in touch with him through emails or private message. I'm thinking there is no copyright infrigement due to the fact that he no longer supports it or even offers the package. Any suggestions or thoughts? I don't want to create a ruckus by uploading it to AVSIM. Robert Williamson
December 19, 200718 yr Why is there a date check, and what's it's purpose ?Was it meant to be a limited time beta to be superseeded by a later version, and then development stopped, or something ?_______RegardsChris Ehttp://www.circle-software.co.uk/php/html/images/logo.gifVisit http://www.circle-software.co.ukHome of X-Plane Photographic Scenery : England & Wales
December 19, 200718 yr Yes, that seems to be the reason. Dexter was quite active for a long time, churning out new versions of his add-in program. If there won't be any new versions to come it would be quite dumb to have the latest (and, final) one being stopped by a date check.Hans Petter
December 20, 200718 yr Yeah, it seems he was planning on further versions and he instead switched over to MSFS. I think the FSCargo program was his. It seems very similar to FSS for FU3. Since it doesn't seem like he is ever going to support FSS for FU3, nor make any improvements of FSS, I don't see the harm in uploading FSS to AVSIM. Robert Williamson
