"The Light Is Off !! Thank YOU Rob Cappers"

This post is in reference to an earlier one where we were trying to determine how to turn off the annoying cockpit lamp while flying at night in Jan Vissers DC-3 with the dual R4D panel. See:[http://ftp.avsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=read_count&om=4946&forum=DCForumID8]After numerous attempts to turn off that cockpit lamp, even threatening to take a virtual hammer to it, Rob Cappers, of DC-2 Uiver fame, came to the rescue. Here are the before and after shots:This is how the night panel looks as it comes with the original FS2000 R4D configuration.http://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/preview/...2/01Default.JPGThis is how it looks when you turn off the battery and generator switches on the overhead. The result is the desired lighting, but, as you can see, this turns off too many other things too!http://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/preview/...haroah42/02.JPGBelow is the result of opening, with notepad, the R4D panel.cfg file and, at the very bottom of it, entering:Day=255,255,255Night=70,41,16Luminous=167,110,11http://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/preview/...haroah42/03.JPGThe lights are where I want them and everything else is still working too. Rob says that if you want it darker change the numbers. For a clue, find the colour you want in PSP (RGB value)I think I'll leave well enough alone but if any of the rest of you play with it, let me know what kind of results you achieved. Finally! The itch has been scratched! Thanks to Rob and all the rest of you who provided your insight and opinions on this subject.Sincerest regards,"Bad Weather" Heather

And thank you for bringing it up so that others could learn where to go tweaking :)

My pleasure hun. That's just the way I am; I learn a good trick I pass it on to the rest of the lemmings. Maybe it will keep us from running into the sea.Cheers!Heather
