Las Vegas Fireworks

One of the first flights, after installing FS2002, took me over Vegas at night and I was impressed by the fireworks.Later, when I went to show a friend this, nothing!?Are they keyed to a date, such as the 4th of July or did I mess something up somehwere?I've added so many add-ons and files to this sim since first getting it that nothing would surprise me.Regards,Heather

Try the Las Vegas flight in the helicopter pilot flights. If you get a chance, do a search on Avsim or Flightsim for fireworks. I forgot the author, but he's got some seriously impressive fireworks for New York City and Salt Lake City.

Thanks Psycho!Now that you mention it, I believe that wa what I was flying because I wanted something slower to enjoy the Las Vegas night scenery.Since I'm a horrible chopper pilot and rarely fly them, that's probably why I didn't see the fireworks anymore flying over in a fixed wing. Keyed to FX file isn't it.I'll look into those other downloads. Thanks!Regards,Heather

Keyed to FX file isn't it. If you lower the realism, the Bell 206 is pretty easy to fly. If you can't hover, you can land it like an airplane -- just hold the flare a bit longer.Or, select the flight, and when it's loaded, select a new aircraft. If you like slow, Dave Eckert has a really nice Stearman. There's also a nice Gmax DH Tiger Moth available in the library. I have a hard time taxiing because it lifts off at 30 kts. If you still need slower, I found a decent Bleriot monoplane the other day -- it'll do barely 55 kts in a dive.

Thanks for the tips on the planes and helo's guys. The Stearman and Tiger Moth I alreadt have, most definitely! I used to own my own biplane and can kick my own behind for ever selling it.I'm not mush of a helo fan to be honest. They're okay but I prefer my fixed-wing, especially of the "Classic" category. Although i must admit that flying around in the little Benson Gyrocopter is fun.With DC Airways, I am currently enroute (DC-3) following the hisrorical route across America from New York to San Francisco. I am strongly considering flying back with a 1927 Pitcairn Mailwing PA-5 U.S. Mail biplane. Will be a heck of a long flight but interesting.Cheers!Heather

Hmmm, that just brings up a page of choppers -- exactly which one is the great little one those of us who crash the eggbeaters would find easy to fly?
