RC v3 and AI

Featured Replies

How is RC going to work around all the AI aircraft and their use of ATC, will they be using RC too, or will they use the standard FS ATC? Two frequencies will be in use then and transmissions could be stepped on. Could you please reveal some details on this matter? We look forward to reviewing v3 as soon as it comes out! Thanks for all your years of devotion! Keep it up!Flyin' High,Matthew NiederbergerEditor in Chief FS Magazine (NL/:( www.fsmagazine.nl

Matt,RC and FS have nothing to do with each other. They are two separate programs.RC V3 can see the 2K2 AI traffic in the air, but that's it. You'll be informed of traffic within a 10-mile radius if it's +/- 1000 feet of your altitude.2K2 AI responds to 2K2 ATC and you respond to RC.RC uses Com 1, whether or not it's set as your active radio. This means you can set Com 2 as active, if you have it, and monitor the 2K2 ATC. This way you can use the ATC feature to auto-tune Com 2 to whatever freq is in use by the 2K2 ATC.However, at no time will you want to talk with the 2K2 ATC.

Thanks for the info, looking forward to its release!Flyin' High,Matthew NiederbergerEditor in Chief FS Magazine (NL/:( www.fsmagazine.nl

Does RCv3 try in any way to avoid AI aircrafts. Currently with FS2K2 ATC it is very possible to have a mid air collision what will be the situation with RCv2. Does this probability increase .Tony

Tony, The probability of a collision would decrease. RC will alert you to any AI traffic in the air, as Scott said. I belive the alerts at higher altitudes is +/- 2,000' and 10 miles. On the ground, you better keep your eyes open! ;-)Best, Rob

http://avsim.com/flightdeck/images/Radar_small.gifBeta tester for http://www.jdtllc.com' target="_blank">Radar Contact] the premier ATC adventure add-on for FS

Hi Scott,"This way you can use the ATC feature to auto-tune Com 2 to whatever freq is in use by the 2K2 ATC."Ooops! I must have missed that. How do I set my COM radio to autotune?Stamatis

Stamtis,I meant using the "1-Tune to xxx on xxx.xx" feature. Sorry about that.

Ah OK, and for a moment I thought I was on to something new... :-)Stamatis
