December 4, 200223 yr Hello Michael, Bob, John, Scott and Larry, I do appreciate the excellent responses I've received from my previous post but thought I would try to answer all of your responses in this one new post. Thanks for understanding. To Michael: Yes I am learning to use the ATC option "when able". It allows me the latitude to fly a good approach and still make use of ATC.To Bob: I do realize trying to duplicate the RW ATC at very busy airports such as KORD is no simple programming task. I do not in any way claim to have the answer on how. All I have, from the RW, is a number of RW flightplans that we were able to coax AA pilots into giving us as we departed a number of RW flights from KORD.To Scott: Yes I guess I was rather harsh with RC but my intention, at those times, was not to demean the product as much as it was looking for a way to do both, ie, try to depart and arrive at airports in the way I understand those flights would be handled in the RW. Since I was made aware of the usefulness of NOTAMS I realized this was the answer. I certainly am aware of the massive difficulty in trying to provide for all SIDS and STARS to every runway at every airport. I never expected ANY FS related program to provide that cpability. The use of NOTAMS resolves this issue. As far as degrading RC itself, that was never my intent. It is the best ATC program I have run across, I still have not tried RC3,even though I installed it last night, but am confident that this version of RC will be much more useful. It has plenty of promise. To Larry: In RW flights I cannot actually say what SIDS were used upon leaving O'Hare. It is almost impossible, for me at least, to tell that looking out of the passenger side window. In my FS planning I generally use the ELX VOR when departing for KPVD and DBQ when heading to Salt Lake. Again this determination was/is based on the AA flightplans which we were fortunate to obtain from the flightcrews of these flights. Yes it would be a privilege to visit a TRACON center and watch the folks work but just as my scheduled tour of the KPVD site was cancelled as a result of 11-7 I assume it now is a NOGO at any center. But the main point in the RW is safety and I am a big fan of that concept. Thanks group for your sincere answers. My best regards to all of you
