Chatter Files Dieing

Featured Replies

For some reason I lose all chatter communications once I switch to Approach during decent. It happens on every flight. Whats up with this? I have the chatter slider max'd out. Thanks,Michael

Hi Michael,A couple of questions.1. Are you flying in one particular area?2. Before contacting approach are you getting the pre-recorded or RC generated chatter from centre. All the best,John

HI John,Not sure what you mean by pre-recorded. But while on center, everything seems to be working fine. I hear instructions being given to me and I also here the chatter. Once instructed to tune to approach (usually around 10,000 feet), I hear all the approach instructions to me but no more chatter. From here on RC gives me all the instructions as it should but the chatter sounds are all gone. Thanks,Michael

Hi Michael,RC uses two kinds of chatter. If there is some chatter recorded from actual atc transmissions available for the area then that is played (pre-recorded).Otherwise RC will generate some chatter of it's own - using the RC controller voices. One major difference, for example, is that the pre-recorded chatter will play over the sea, RC generated chatter doesn't (to avoid you getting messages to a cessna in the middle of the atlantic!)Hence the interest in where you are flying and what you are hearing from centre (pre-recorded or generated). All the best,John
