December 11, 200223 yr I like to dial my own frequencies so I DON'T select "tune on contact" in options. However, it appears I have to select this option in order to get weather and my clearance from FSS (over the phone)at non controlled fields. Otherwise I just get the static sound. So am I overlooking something or will I have to start with "tune on contact" selected for flights originating at non controlled fields and then pause the flight and change options to continue without "tune on contact" selected?I apologize if this is explained in the manual. If so, I missed it.
December 11, 200223 yr Dykes,I'll check it out. It's been a while since I didn't have pilot auto-reply checked.
December 11, 200223 yr Dykes,You are right. All the menu shows is (in my case) "CS1-FSS Wx". There's no way to have it do anything since there's no weather freq in the interface. You can do one of two things: 1) check "Tune on contact", get the weather, then uncheck or 2) Set a frequency for Wx and get ATIS. At least with 2 you don't have to leave the sim.Sorry about that. It'll get fixed.
December 11, 200223 yr Thanks Scott. Its really no big deal. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking something.
