I would much appreciate a simple statement of what I should do to make the controllers sound as they do in the sample found on the Flight Deck web page. I am running XP Pro and FS 2002 Pro. I have worked my way through the discussions on the forum and tried the various "strings" that have been found to fix things, but I cannot find one that the Target box will accept after I delete what is there. I have tried the task manager route but cannot find rcv3 or fs2002 in the processes list. I will be greatful for any help.

Set the priority of RC to High or Real Time and the problem will go away. There are numerous discussions of this on this forum. Look for "solution to slow controller voices" and the like.
