December 15, 200223 yr Has anyone tried to use a speech processor with Radar Contact v3?I am trying to use Voice Master Pro & Radar Contact v3 on the same networked PC along with AdvDis, Weather Center Expert, and FSRealtime. I'm not sure if Voice Master Pro has hooks into WideFS client or RCv3. Thanks for any suggestions. :-)
December 15, 200223 yr I haven't used Voice Master, but I have Dl'ed Flight Assistant, a free speech-recognition program for all these programs. People who have used it appear to really like it and say it works just grand.Larry can tell you about this particular program.
December 15, 200223 yr I use FS2002 Flight Assistant. With it I control FS2002 and RC almost exclusivly with my voice. It is easily configurable and best of all it is free. You can find the latest version at:www.thelindercompany.de.vuLarry
December 15, 200223 yr Thanks Guys!I just downloaded FS2002FA v1.3.13 .... Will try it. I hope I left "Microsoft Speech 5.1 SDK" on the client PC.
December 16, 200223 yr >Thanks Guys! >>I just downloaded FS2002FA v1.3.13 .... Will try it. I hope >I left "Microsoft Speech 5.1 SDK" on the client PC. Larry,Are you using RC v3 and FS2002FA over a LAN? FS2002FA could not talk to FS2002 via my WideFS client. It works great when resident the same PC as FS2002.
December 16, 200223 yr I downloaded it as well. Works great on my laptop, but...... is it possible to use it with WideFS? I've got it installed, doing a flight right now with the PSS 747 (VHHH-RJAA), and it doesn't seem to be doing anything. Is there something else I need to set? I started by saying good morning to the assistant, it replied fine, I tried to set parking brake, pitot heat, lower flaps, it recognised the phrases and responded in kind, but nothing happened with the sim. Thanks for any help. This program seems pretty good.Lobaeux
December 16, 200223 yr Lobaeux,I don't know why it doesn't work on your laptop when FS2002 is runing. I assume PSS 747 (VHHH-RJAA) is a FS2002 addon. As I mention in the previous post, FS2002FA doesn't appear to work with WideFS. I hope someone can provide some additional information about this application.
December 16, 200223 yr Okay, just saw your post about not being able to run it over WideFS. Too bad, but I guess we shouldn't complain, it being free and all. Amazing stuff from the Linder Company, just can't believe they're so young!Off to dl'd on my main computer then.Lobaeux
December 16, 200223 yr I run it on my main PC. I hadn't tried it on the lan. I am sure it doesn't look for fsuipc so it won't work unless it is resident on the host computer. Maybe we could send a suggestion to the Linder Company to see if they could add that functionality...Larry
December 16, 200223 yr That would be great if they could add FSUIPC support. The "Microsoft Mary" isn't quite the same voice as "Otto" but close enough.BTW, what commands do y'all have for this, I haven't really looked to hard into it, but I've got flaps (in increments), gear up and down, autopilot on and off. Not sure what else I'm going to program, but those are a big deal. Any other ideas? Thanks,Lobaeux
December 16, 200223 yr I sent email to the Linder company inquiring about the ability of FS2002 FA to operate throught WideFS. Let's see what kind of response we get. For use with ATC use, either RC v3 or FS2002, all one needs is to call out the number selected from the AdvDisp/ATC menu. That's easy enough.
December 16, 200223 yr Finished up my first flight with it, called the flaps down, called the gear down, this program is really great. Doesn't seem to need too much in the way of resources, but the MS speech kit is huge. That'd be great if they can get it to work with FSUIPC. I'm going to go ahead and program in the numbers to use with RC.Lobaeux
December 17, 200223 yr Information regarding using FS2002FA networked using WideFS from a previous post in this topic:Email I sent to the authors of "THE LINDER COMPANY FS 2002 Flight Assistant 1.3 (FS2002FA)":Greetings Gentlemen, I am using your excellent speech recognition application, FS2002 FA with Microsoft FS2002.Is it possible for FS2002 FA to recognize
December 18, 200223 yr LOL, oh well.I've got it set up now, on the main computer and I've got to "say" it's great. I've got it set up so that all I have to do is say "clearance" and I hear back, "okay, going to get clearance" then I hear RC giving me the clearance. Same with "tower" "ground", also I haven't used my buttons I normally use for flaps or gear, I just tell the copilot to do it. Fascinating.Lobaeux
