December 18, 200223 yr I am interested in knowing which cards are known to work with FS2k2 and RCv3. I have a old PCI128 SB card and I am not getting much help from Creative. Anyway . . .I am preparing to purchase a new sound card and I want to get some posters' input. Thanks!
December 18, 200223 yr Mine is an old SB live value with creatives drivers for winxp. Seems to work fine.
December 18, 200223 yr What I forgot to mention is that I am running Win98. I do have a copy of XP but I haven't been motivated enough to install. Hmmmm . . . .maybe it's time, eh?
December 19, 200223 yr Take a look at this thread and see if it helps.http://ftp.avsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboa...rum=DCForumID31However, for better sound overall, I always recommend updating the card to something newer. Good sound is a must-have these days (depending on what you play, of course).
December 19, 200223 yr Would someone please take a tape recorder and record the WxBrf channel with an approved sound card, then digitize it and put it up on the net somewhere.I'd like to hear what it sounds like. I'm getting nothing but choppy speech even with a SB Live. Very disconcerting.
December 19, 200223 yr Okay, then what cards are you aware of that work and don't cost much. Preferable under $50 bucks. Thanks
December 19, 200223 yr I don't actually know. According to what Creative said, any of theirs do if you use the DirectX drivers instead of the VXD drivers. However, I'm sure if you do a search of stores or mfgrs on the web, you can find info if a card is multi-channel or not.Places like cnet.com or pcconnection.com should give you a list. CNET gives reviews of just about everything. The ultimnate source for everything computer is Tom's Hardware Guide http://www.tomshardware.com/This is their reply to searching for "multi-channel audio"http://www17.tomshardware.com/search/searc...i-channel+audioIt isn't a lot, but you can do a search for audio cards in general.
