Frame Rate Drop with MCP747

Featured Replies

I'm running Project Magenta (PM) on 3 hosts and using the Aerosoft MCP747 as a h/w interface to the PM MCP s/w. I have been routinely getting somewhere around 23-33 fps sitting idle on the ramp. I installed RC3 a few days ago and checked it out without the MCP747 enabled and framerates remained in the 23-33 fps range. When I fly with the MCP747 and do not use RC3 I get 23-33 fps.But when I enable the MCP747 interface and use RC3 simultaneously the frame rate drops to 3-9 fps. If I kill either the MCP747 process or the RC3 process - framerates go back up to the 23-33 range. The framerate drop occurs consistently so long as both RC3 and MCP747 are running.Any ideas on what might be going on?Thanks.-michael

A detail I left out is that I'm running RC3 as an XP process with ABOVENORMAL priority. When running RC3 as a NORMAL priority process there is no problem. And - further testing has allowed me to solve the problem by running the Aerosoft h/w and s/w on a different host than RC3. -michael
