RC3 Shutdown Problem and Disappearing ADV Solved

Featured Replies

I have posted a similiar message as a string under Post 806, but I thought some novice like me might be having the same problem. My problem was a "disappearing ADV gauge" and problems in shutting down RCV3 after I closed FS2002. (Windows XP OS) Kept getting the perverbial " send message to Microsoft for some reason". Found my solution in Peter Dowson's docs for the recent 2.95 FSUIPC release. Maybe it was in the earlier ones but he suggested using Jose Oliveria's editing Run Options program in this one revised in November to include a close option for this which I did. A simple eidt of the FSUIPC.ini in the modules section of FS2002 in notepad will also do the trick.I added the following under a new section at the bottom of the FSUIPC.ini file as a section called Programs:runIf1=READY,KILL,C:Program FilesFS_Meteofs_meteo.exerunIf2=READY,KILL,C:Program Filesrcv30rcv3.exerun3=C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFS2002MODULESMiniCPMiniCP.exeIt auomatically loads the three programs after FS2002 boots up and then drops them to the task bar where they can be easily toggled back and forth. It automatically shuts the external programs down when FS2002 is shut down. I have tried this flying several planes today. No more problems with the ADV display disappearing and no problems shutting down RC3 or the others. Also much easier than having to load the external programs individually. The docs say that you can use this to load up to eight external programs.I am sure that some of you seasoned simmers are way ahead of me on this!!FYIDon Whitfieldhttp://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3df969a06a98783d.gif

Don,Yes, this feature has been in FSUIPC for a while. I'm glad you got it all working. It's good info for everyone. Thanks.

Where is FSUIPC.ini I went to FS2002/Modules and there is FSUIPC.dll and can not open with notepad What am I doing wrong or is there something I need to download? Thanks GDKJR

G,If you have FSUIPC.dll and after riunning FS, no FSUIPC.ini is there then FSUIPC isn't writing the file. That's not a good thing. You might consider installing/reinstall FSUIPC 2.94 or later.
