Bat File

Featured Replies

My system is running on Win98 2nd Edition.I have tried a couple of time to create a Start-RCV3.bat file.Everytime I create one and type in the new name it does not prompt me with a warning. The file is also not a MSdos file.If I check the properties of the file I have created it says that the MSDos name is Start~.TXT.What am I doing Wrong? Can Some one Help me please. Many ThanksJohn

Hi JohnJust a guess but make sure that the extension .txt has been removed. The name should be Start-RCV3.bat, not Start-RCV3.bat.txtAll the best,John

Hi John,Thanks for the reply. The problem starts before I try and name the file. There is a problem when I try and create the file and press enter I don't get the warning prompt. The file is a normal TXT file and not a MSDOS file like that in the Notes. If I Right click on the file I have not got the option to Edit the File . I can only open it and insert the rcv3 and pv -ph rcv3.exe.I try and modify the Launch Radar contact in Properties ( Target line etc) and click apply. The system wont allow me to change the target line because the path does not exist. If I check in the RC30 folder the File is there. Thanks John

Hi John,Lets start from scratch.Check step 3 of the instructions.Open the RC3 folder.Right click anywhere and choose new - text document. You should now have a file called 'New text document.txt' in your RC3 folder.Rename this file: Start-RCV3.batRight click on this and the 'edit' menu item should be available. If it is proceed with the rest of the process. If not let me know which bit went wrong :-)All the best,John

Thanks for the help.I managed to get it right eventually.I created the file, Renamed it Start-RCV3.bat and rebooted my computer.Went to the file, Edited and saved it. Modified the Start RCV3 Icon and everything went well. Thanks once again for your time.John
