December 24, 200223 yr I'm trying to create flight plans with SFP 2.81. On the main RCV3 window, it doesn't show the STAR. Will ATC recognize the STAR if it isn't listed on the main window in the plan box? If not, any ideas on how to get RCV3 to recognize a STAR in an SPF adventure? Am I doing something wrong here?"A girl and her plane...It's a beautiful thing."
December 25, 200223 yr I'm not exactly sure what you're asking here. Creating a flight plan with Super Flight Planner will yield exactly the same result as creating a flight plan with any of the other planners. The plan box on the main RC screen will show all waypoints along your plan, STAR waypoints or otherwise. It will show all waypoints that you added within your flight plan.RC will hand you off to the approach controller when you are within 40nm of the destination airport (regardless of how many waypoints are indide the 40nm mark), and start vectoring you for the pattern and intercept of the arrival runway centreline. If you wish to fly your own STAR, you can request various Instrument approaches like full ILS or VOR approaches, after which you will be able to fly your STAR. But remmember, if you request this, it's your responsibiliy to fly the STAR. ATC will expect you to know how to fly it. Of course, if you get lost or whatever, you can put your tail between your legs and ask ATC for vectors again :-)So basically in summary, I think what you would need to do is include the waypoints in the STAR into your flightplan, then request a IAP approach from approach control. Then follow your flightplan to the runway.Page 70 of the manual contains the section on STARs, please refer to it to understand how to fully use STARs. This is a MUST. In addition is several of the tutorials that also deal with the subject.Subs
