HiReplace my Ensoniq sound card with a Creative Aidigy Gamer on Friday and re-installed RCC3.I made the batch file to start rcv3 for Win98 and tried a flight fromKlit to Kbna. The sound worked and everything was going along fine until I got my taxi instuctions to the runway and told to hold short and contact tower. When I pushed number 1 to contact tower the text changed, but no instruction or sound. I was given the choice to abort takeoff with number 2. I pushed 2, but still no voice. I finally shut down everything and started over again. This time the same thing happened no sound from tower, so I taxied on the runway and held and then I got sound telling me cleared for takeoff. The rest of the flight was perfect.I've tried 4 more flights since then and always somewhere in the flight I fail to get sound for one of the instructions. Once it was ground that failed. Another time it was center that failed with descent instuctions, and intruction from tower again. The text changes on the adventure display when this happens, but no voice.I've tried changing the batch file from ph to pr, but it was the same either way.Everything in rcv3 works perfect except for this random failure to hear the intructions.Any ideas, help will be appreciatedsystem P2450, 256mb, ram, P2B MB, Diamond Viper 16MB TNT, Audigy gamer sound card Cheers Arnold

Arnold,Let's start with the obvious and get that out of the way.Check directories winwood2-10. You should have 1131 files in each. You should also have 1026 files in 0 and 1.It is very strange to not get just Tower's "taxi into position into hold" unless you are missing files.

Hi ScottI turned hardware sound acceleration level up a notch and tried a flight from Kmlu-Ksgf and rcv3 worked perfect. All the sound and voices were fluid and as they should be. I only wish I could understand the English voice, He told me to descend to 15000 and it sounded like 16000. Other than that everything seems OK.CheersArnold

Arnold,I consider the "foreign" voices to be good practice for the real world. Even though the ATC folks speak pretty clear English here, it's still sometimes difficult to understand them - and I don't understand a word they're saying in the South no matter how well I listen! And heaven help me in Boston! :-lolThis is why it's funny to me when people say they want "American" voices. What in heck is an American voice? ;-)I'm glad you got it working. Out of curiosity, what happens if you crank acceleration to full? Also, have you tried setting DirectSound debug to off? This is mostly a problem with Win98 systems. And have you tried increasing the RCv3 priority?
