Practice IFR procedures (Holds/Approachs)

What's the easiest way with RC to practice basic instrument items like this? I have my CFI-I coming up (finished my CFI yesterday, clap clap) and need to get my instrument skills back in line.Any input would be appreciated

Jeff...errr...Bo, ;-)Shooting approaches using the IAP request is a only method. Pick your favorite haunt and do some VOR and NDB approaches, or whichever type you need a refresher on. It really doesn't matter what you request for the IAP since you're on your own for IAP. When you're about to touch down, power on, gear up, declare MA and do it again as many times as you wish. Or fly to your alternate, or request another airport completely, and do the same. Just remember that with a prop, if you slow to less than 20 knots you'll be handed to Ground. So don't slow to less than 20 knots.Holds. Make sure you have holding set to 100%, and make sure your last waypoint is a VOR on the field or no further than 5 miles. Save the RC flight (from RC) 20 miles before the CR point (60 miles from airport). After you get a holding instruction, decide which method you want and fly it. When you're released, end RC and restart, then click Load Flight to reload the flight. You should get a hold every time. You only need to end RC and restart once. When you click "Load Flight" you can do that as many times as you wish. But you don't have that option when you run RC normally. You can only save.Do both together. Save, restart, do hold, fly in basically for the option.
