Trying again to reinstall RCV3

Featured Replies

Im revisiting this problem because I really want to get Radar Contact reinstalled. So, if youve seen this before, just roll your eyes and ignore it.But surely there's some way to whip this, and maybe a littlemore brainstorming will help ...HHERE'S THE SITUATIONI recently upgraded by computer to Windows XP, mainly by doing a clean install on my E: partition. I still have it installed under the Win98 secondary OS. When I try to run it under XP, it says comdlg32.ocx no registered or installed or whatever. However, when I try to install it under WinXP, it says it cannot create temp file. This probably due to insufficient space on the partitiion. My properties window shows I have 9Gig on the partiion. Is there any way, any way I can make it look elsewhere for creation of a temp file??How much space exactly do I need to for the temp file??Or, barring that, is there anyway I can alter the already installed RC to run as ifit had been installed under WinXP???I suppose I could use a partitioning tool and create more space, but I concerned about what problems that might create. As I said, Ive explored this before, and had pretty much given up using RC, but I miss it.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.John WNewburgh, IN

Have you tried registering comdlg32.ocx with Windows?Open a DOS window and change to the windowssystem32 directory. Then key in the following:regsvr32 comdlg32.ocxNow try Radar Contact again.

Rick, you da man...Got home and tried it (althought I had to go to the windowssystem folder) and it worked...I cant thank you enough. Its gerat to be back in radar contact again.See ya.John:-jumpy

Glad your up and running. Thanks but I can't take credit for this one. All I did was restate on of JD's suggestions from your other message thread.
