July 27, 200322 yr Hopefully someone can help me with an irritating problem that has just begun to appear while running RC and FS2002.First some stats: Pentium 4 CPU 2.00ghz Windows XP Home vers Nvidia GForce 4 Ti4800 RC ver: 3.00.1732 FSUIPC ver: 3.01 AdvDisplay ver: 2.11Here is what happens, when I begin a flight everything is normal in cockpit view (in full screen mode). I enable advdisplay and put it over my main cockpit off to the lower left corner. Every thing still ok. Then I dock. Then start RC. Everything starts normally but whenever the cockpit shows any message such as parking brakes, pause etc. half of my screen seems just in the area of the panel losses resilution. IfI undock the advdisplay or turn off the message (parking brakes, etc.) The panel returns to normal. Any ideas.I have attached a picture which hopefully can be seen.http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/26133.jpg
July 27, 200322 yr Are you running in 16 bit resolution with Anti aliasing on?If so you need to turn Anit aliasing off or switch to 32bit resolution with Anti Aliasing on. For some reason in FS200x it will distort your panels like that.Took me a week to figure that problem out.Sean
July 27, 200322 yr Sean,Yes I forgot to mention AA is on and I am indeed running 32bit mode. I also originally said when advdisplay is docked this happens but on further investigation this problem also occurs when advdisplay is undocked off or on. So it seems it occurs when FS shows messages as described in m first post (pause game, brakes, parking brakes etc.). Seems RC nor AdvDisplay is the cause. Problem only occurs when AA is on, either by FS or NVidia control. Since flying without AA is not good I'll continue to look for a solution. Thanks for your thoughts though. Its appreciated.Dave
July 27, 200322 yr Sean,After reading several old threads in the fightsim forum the 16 bit solution seemed to be the fix. But I had checked the FS setting and it was indeed set to 32bit, but checking FS2002.cfg file the resolution was 1024x768x16. I changed this to 1024x768x32 and saved. Started up FS and low and behold problem gone.. You were infact correct. Thanks again.Dave
