ADVdisplay and ATI 9800 cards

Tip.A Solution I found to the flashing screen with new ATI graphics cards. If you run the ADVDisplay screen 'locked' into position, but NOT 'docked' when using Radar Contact, you don't get the flashing screen when selecting menus in FS9.You do get the display when you change to spot view, but that's not that bad either.Hope it helps someone!Regards,Kevin

Kevin,If you're talking about FS9, then you can simply turn off "Render to Texture". This fixes the flashing problem.

Scott,I'm talking about the flashing when you press the 'ALT' key to access the menu. The 'Render to Teture' makes no difference to the effect on my machine with that. My understanding is that it is a problem with the Catalyst drivers from ATI. I can only guess that having the Display window overlaying the FS9 screen somehow forces the graphics card into a particular mode. It doesn't even appear to affect the frame rates. (PSS 340 appear to do that all on its own when its not sending the plane upwards at 157000fpm - and yes I do mean that!!).Kevin.

Kevin,Oh. Okay. I know what you're talking about. It's the refresh rate of AdvDisp that does the flashing thing. Yes, disengaging it from the panel puts in into it's own graphics process. It seems as if all the new payware aircraft have that pitching, trim problem. I spend a lot of time with my air files to make sure things like that don't happen. I don't know why PSS and Ariane can't get it or their panels/software right. Trim is the easiet thing there is.Just one reason I still hven't paid for any aircraft.Good luck.
