Have had the Weather option checked in the Holding section of RC for some time. Today, KABQ-KDAL at about 1655z (1155cdt)and about70 nm from CVE, received a Hold at 40 DME with 20 mile legs, EFC 1725. At about 1710z, received a new EFC for 1745z. Forgot to add- there were also step-down descents during the hold.

The EFCs are a swag, an educated guess by controllers advising Ps when to expect their next clearance. Expect a clearance (this is rw btw), on or before your latest EFC. All systems normal.
