Opening FS2002 Textures

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me how to open FS2002 compressed image files? They're mostly (.BMP) files but it seems its compressed in a way that you can't open it with regular image editors. Is there a plugin for Photoshop to open this files?Thanks,Pluto1168(kelvin)

Have you tried the image tool that come with flight simulator?

Imagetool only comes with 2k2Pro... But there is another great freeware tool--dxtbmp, I believe, which is good at working with the bitmaps.-John

Nope but Can I convert this textures using image tool so I can edit them with Photoshop?pluto1168(kelvin)

Dxtbmp does one better. It allows you to link to your favorite editor. You open up the bitmap in dxtbmp, then double-click it to open it in your favorite editor. The proggie tracks the changes, and allows you to save the bitmap in the proper format...

It also allows you to work on the image and the alpha channel separately.
