  1. I'm having a problem since freshly installing FS2004/FS9 on my Windows 7 desktop. It has resided on this PC

very comfortably in the past, operating efficiently and smoothly, without any incidents. So far, I've found the

sim to be quite the same on this install with one exception: on the initial startup, the program is always opening

at 1/2 the simulation rate, R. There is no problem with correcting this by one press of R+, as per the Key

Assignments. However, I haven't experienced the necessity of doing this at any time in the past.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening in the first place, and secondly how to apply a fix to the issue?

Thanks in advance for any and all assistance!

  2. Hello all! I'm currently in a conundrum that I'm trying to resolve, to wit:I've installed the FS9/2004 version of Kirk Ollsen's "General Dynamics" F-16 Viper, and also the "Lockheed Martin" versionof the same model (called Viperden), with the updated and superb HUD panel. With the exception of the improved HUD displayand the addition of a smaller "sweep" radar guage, the cockpit and panel views are identical in all other respects. However,in the Viper all lighting switches work properly when clicked - in the Viperden all work fine with the exception of the strobeswitch, which, when clicked, goes from off to on and then immediately back to off. It should be noted that all lights are placedand show correctly when the keyboard "L" command is used, but even so, the strobe is working but the switch is still in the offposition. Without using the "L" input, the strobe doesn't operate when the switch is clicked and goes back from up to down.I know it's not the same, but I had a similar problem with another A/C (737) in which the Autothrottle switch had an identical flaw.I went to the aircraft.cfg file, located an autothrottle entry, and changed a "0" to a "1" and voila - the thing worked fine after that.I've tried locating the same "type" of entry for the strobe in the Viperden, but not having much success. I've eliminated thepossibility of an install error, as two others that I fly with also made the install, and are experiencing this problem also. I'mrelatively new to the "editing" of A/C systems in MSFS, but I'm gaining experience and growing better in the process everyday...You can help me to continue my growth of knowledge in this area if you can shed some light (pardon the pun) on what I needto do to successfully solve this "minor" problem (and it is minor, but it's really bugging me)! :( Thanks in advance for any and all assistance that might be offered!Rocky

Hello, Claus! I'm looking for the file named in the subject line of this email, namely, default_fs9_beech_baron_58_update.zip, whichhad been on file for download at AVSIM.com before they werehacked. Now the file shows as not yet restored, and I don'tknow whether they'll ever be able to do so. I had this updateinstalled on my very first PC with FS9, and have been searchingfor it to no avail, since my most recent hardware and softwareupgrades. I really loved the A/C update you devised and verymuch want to re-install it now. I don't have (unfortunately) acompatible backup for it, and was wondering if you could provideme with a working copy of the file for this purpose, or direct meto a link where I can successfully locate it. Any help you canprovide in this effort would be most appreciated!
...to which a very prompt response from Claus revealed this info:
