  1. Hi everyone,

In the past when opening the "Map" in FS9 I have seen a bar at the bottom where you can slide it left and right it it will move the red line showing the route you have flown, I've recently installed FS9 on my computer again and installed 9.1 update but don't seem to have that little feature, I could of sworn it was added after installing the 9.1 patch.

Wondering if someone can help me get that back on there,

    Thank you :)

  2. When you uninstalled, did you clean out the My Documents/Microsoft/ FS9 folder?

You have a bad .WX file saved in that folder which is causing this error.

    Hi there,

I did do that yep, I constantly clear out the folder with those .WX files and the error still happens,

After every crash I go to the event log just to see if it was something different, and its always weather.dll :/

  3. Hi all,

For the last few months I've been trying to find a fix for a weather.dll error that's causing my sim to crash.

It seems to happen right after takeoff or just after landing.

I've tried everything I can think of, I've reinstalled the whole flight sim and only added one aircraft with nothing else and it still crashes.

I'm completely lost at what to do, i'm hoping someone else here has had this issue and might know of a fix for it.

I hope to hear back from someone.

    Thank you.

  4. Admittedly I don't know much about Windows 8, being one who's stubbornly clinging to Windows 7, but this doesn't make any sense. Either your laptop should boot with the built-in Intel HD graphics chip providing video, or with the Nvidia card you purchased providing it, but it shouldn't in any way be something you can select in the Windows 8 Control Panel unless Windows 8 is radically different from any other OS I've ever used. A video card isn't something one can simply "hotplug" when desired, and then remove at other times, certainly not in the way one can with, say, an external USB drive or the like.

Not knowing Windows 8 intimately, I'm also not familiar with the UEFI system that's replaced the system BIOS which exists on older computers, but there must be a setting in there somewhere which lets the user select whether the onboard graphics controller is to be used or whether the display is to be provided by an external (addon) graphics card. That setting is what I'd be looking for if I were you, and you'll need to make sure you have your Nvidia card plugged in when you do so. If Windows 8 boots with the Nvidia card providing its display, then FS9 will use that same card.

    Thank you for your reply,

I have read what you suggested with the Bios.. But have not been able to find that on this laptop as of yet, I think changing that to use the Nvidia card instead of the Intel HD Graphics is what i need to do, its just finding that out.

  5. Hi there

I have recently purchased a new laptop with Windows 8 along with Nvidia GeForce GT640M graphics card & Intel HD Graphics.

The problem i'm having is when i open FS9 and go to display settings i cannot select or see the Nvidia card there, Its just set to use the HD graphics, I've updated the Nvidia drivers and also changed settings in the control panel to run FS9 with Nvidia but nothing changes in FS9.

I've hunted around google for tips and advice but still haven't found any answers so i thought i would try here in avsim.

I'm hoping someone else may of had this problem and found a fix, Main reason i purchased it was for the card it came with and to play FS9.

    Thank you very much.

  7. Hey guys,

After having trouble with the real world weather in fs9, giving me a weather.dll error whenever using it i've come to look for a freeware weather addon that would do that same as the fs9 real world weather, something that would possibly update every 15 minutes.

I've looked at Active Sky, but unfortunately don't have the money to spend on an addon at the moment.

If anyone has an idea what i could use i would very much appriciate it!

  8. Hello all.

I've been having this problem where i either takeoff or land and flight sim just crashes and says its not responding.

After checking the event log it seems its being caused by weather.dll. The following is the error i get.

Faulting application name: fs9.exe, version: 9.1.0.40901, time stamp: 0x4135a208

Faulting module name: Weather.DLL, version: 9.1.0.40901, time stamp: 0x4135a88e

    Faulting process id: 0x970

    Faulting application start time: 0x01cdd17f29272817

    Faulting application path: C:\FS2004\fs9.exe

    Faulting module path: C:\FS2004\MODULES\Weather.DLL

    Report Id: dd308b7f-3d76-11e2-b761-ec9a74558b73

I have no idea what i can do to fix this, I'm unable to play the game as it will crash either when i takeoff or land.

I really hope someone can help me, Thank you very much.

  10. Hello everyone

The last couple of weeks i have been having a horrible problem with my flight sim, It just started freezing and then saying not responding after i had taken off or landed at an airport.

I removed everything i had added, i have even formatted my laptop, I purchased a brand new FS2004 set and installed that in a fresh format of my laptop.

I downloaded a posky A320 and tried to do a flight with that and after takeoff it still did the same, I am running windows 7 and have followoed all the tips for installing FS9 on windows 7.

I'm not lost with what to do, or what tips.

The only thing i was wondering is would my joystick by chance cause flight sim to crash? I can't think of anything else other than my josytick causing a problem somehow?

I hope someone could help me.. I'm unable to play the game at all.

    Thank you.

  11. Hi guys,

I've started having a problem with FS9... After i takeoff it decides to just crash on me and say it encountered a problem, I may get to do a flight but then when i land it will crash again.

I don't really have any addons i have UK2000 EGLL free version, and WOAI traffic, That is all i have.

I am running windows 7 and i have followed all the tips for installing it on a windows 7 pc.

I have had it running well for a few months and have no idea what has changed to make it start crashing like that.

Really don't know what to do anymore.

Really hope someone here might be able to shed some light on what i could do to fix it,

    Thank you!

  12. Hi guys, i've had the overland airbus aircraft for a while now, not actually used the A330 before, I've just started using it but i seem to be having a fuel problem, I flew AMS-DTW the other day and it seems to burn or get really low on fuel quick.. I was still 1800NM from DTW and when leaving i had 80% of fuel.

Is there a known problem with this?

Does anyone know how to fix it? Would be very very helpful.

    Thank you for reading guys.

  13. Hi guys.I just got this amazing freeware scenery however im having a bit of trouble with it.If i use the progressive taxi it doesn't seem to follow the taxi ways correctly, it seems to follow it as if the fs9 default airport was still there. Also my AI traffic taxi all over the place to, Is there a way to fix this?Hope to hear back.Thanks.

  14. Hi guys, i just got my new laptop, a HP G6.. However is doesn't have a numberpad, Is there any alternative to using those key features on FS9?I usually use them to look left/right etc.. When in flight, It seems to be a full keyboard just without the seperate numberpad.Hope someone can help me.Thank you. :)

  15. Just took it for a spin, and first attempt I went crashing into the hill just after the end of GCRR's runway. Whoops. Let it gain speed over the rocky ground and still struggled to get it up.Needs a LOT of trimming, and even on a longer runway it probably wont make it with a full load of fuel. I tried emptying both wing tanks and leaving 50% in the center and still only just got off at Arrecife.
Its rather annoying, I'm not sure what to tweek to get it correct, I've never had this problem with an aircraft before lol

  16. Are you using a panel merge? I seem to remember merging the SkySpirit with both the Level-D and QW panels, and although the QW works perfect now with a few tweaks, I had this exact problem with the level-D (although I could actually take off first)
Nope, just the standard panel it comes with, The 767-300 i have by sky spirit works fine, just the 767-400 seems to not rotate, the elevators raise fully but nothing happens. :)

  17. Hi everyone, i'm having some trouble with SkySpirit 767-400, I can't seem to rotate, The takeoff roll exceeds 200kts, and it just doesn't rotate, I used slew to get myself airborne and it just nose dives, Pulling my joystick all the way back doesn't climb it..Anyone know what i could do to fix this?Thank you :).. and Happy New Year!
