Hi guys,

 

I was trying to find if there was a keyboard shortcut to toggle the AVSS from Altitude mode to Ascend/Descent rate mode and back again?

 

I think a quick mouse click will keep switching mode but I would like to assign a key so I can potentially use my VRInsight box.

Valid opinions, but mine is now gathering dust in a draw since EzDok and a wireless headset. Mine spend most of the time paused when trying to hit button hotspots. I used it on my BAe Hawk and it's nice for circuits, but for heavy tin it's a gonner.

My TIR4 is sat in a drawer gathering dust since I got EZDOK, I found the constant pausing TIR to accurately hit a click spot to be too much hassle. I have several views setup for my 767 and assign a joystick button to each so I can smooth pan around the VC. Yeah TIR is good but not essential and personally I find it annoying - just my view :)

For PMDG aircraft I no longer use Track IR but I use the above. Track IR is compatible with ezdockcam but I've not tried them together yet, to be honest I may not bother. The added affects that the cam gives you makes flying much more realitic because it simulates air affects on the aircraft based on weight of the aircraft. It also gives a touch down effect.

I have to agree with Mike here, my TIR4 is in a drawer since I got the cam software. TIR is very nice but you do find yourself pausing it regularly to facilitate hot spot clicking. Both work together if you have them but I find the effects of the cam software much more realistic and I am not tethered to my PC with the IR LED's anymore - particularly helpful as I have wireless headset now.

FPS at unlimited is a must. I easily get 5+ more FPS. I have seen FSX.cfg modifications that get rid of the "blurries."As for the external FPS limiters, I haven't been able to get those to work.

FPS at unlimited for me also and works best with all my a/c and scenery.As for external FPS limiters they cause a big problem for me when using dual monitors. If set externally at 30 FPS, this is then divided down for each window I move to the second monitor.A couple of windows on the second monitor and FPS drops to an unusable rate :(

Hi Rich, I second Acronis as Ryan says. Once installed there is an option to create a boot disk for occasions where C: fails and you cannot boot.

Does the limiter program need pointing to the fsx.exe and not the fsx.cfg?

Thought I'd add my support! Buy it, especially if you have joystick/throttles... the profile config is essential (example: I use it with Saitek X52 Pro and have set throttle curve so that my throttle preset is correct for taxi power). I also fly (cough, cough) a 767 and FSUIPC allows interfacing other software so I can control cockpit functions from other hardware.

Also, and while we are at it, should I also look into ez-dock separately, or have them work together, or not at all?

To add an extra element of realism, ez-dok is perfect. Tricky to setup correctly but very versatile if you persevere. It also works with TrackIR - I use both and like the resonance feature of ez-dok when I land.

Ah! I've actually thought of a genuine question! Will we be able to easily use Shockwave 3D lights with the NGX or are your lights even better? I ask as I use the LevelD 767 which has a strange config for it's lighting which can result in hovering landing gear lights and strobes detached from wingtips :(As well as EZDok camera positions and movements, would PMDG be able to provide a suitable aircraft.cfg [LIGHTS] section for Shockwave?

Hi All, I've spent so long on this issue now that I thought it was worth a punt on the forum. My issue concerns an addon aircraft that has full MCP control and I am trying to interface some hardware. What I really need to know is if there is an Event ID that selects the vertical speed option? I can find ID's for things like AP_HDG_HOLD_ON but nothing for selecting AP_VS although I have found the INC and DEC for the V/S. Also missing is HDGSEL...Am I looking in the wrong place or do these Event ID's not exist? Any help greatly appreciated.Cheers, Squirrel

Correct, they even have a James Bond small cinema inside to show the film. The food isn't too bad either although the views are the best thing - not forgetting the cable car ride up there :(
