It appears that the blank texture set is extremely disorganised. Trying to do a repaint will be next to impossible, at least for someone like myself. Does anyone have any idea of how to make sense of it?

Thanks much, Glenn.

Hey, Stephen,
Thanks. I'm not saying I won't try the camera stuff, I'm sure it's quite different from other programs, it's just that what I'm really interested in is good weather generation.
Thanks again,
Fritz

Yes you can, just run it on a single (standalone) FSX/P3D machine. You just run the FSXSERVER.EXE program on your system and don't configure any Live View Client Computers within its configuration dialog when you first set it up (I.e. leave this field set to 0). Close the program, run FSX then restart our FSXSERVER.EXE program and away you go.
If you have ANY problems or are unsure of things after purchase just post me a question or better still send me an email. Worst case, I'm always at the other end of a phone line.
Regards
Stephen
OK, thanks much, Stephen. I'm not terribly interested in the camera effects for the moment, so is it possible to set those to "zero", or something like that? (Forgot to ask before, oops.)

G'day,
I'm very interested in the weather engine, but I'm not at all sure if I can just run it on a single machine. I don't know zip about "servers" and "clients" or how you go about setting such a system up. Is it possible to just install the program on a single machine and run it like any other program? Sorry to be thick, but there you are.

Fritz

Thanks, cmpbellsjc, much appreciated. That sounds easy enough. I shall give it a go.

I'm kinda new to all this weather stuff. I'm using REX-OD for the moment and like it just fine but I would like to try out those HDE textures. The thing is, I don't have the faintest idea about how I can use REX water, runway textures and weather engine and the HDE textures together. How does one go about doing that? Sorry to be thick, but there you are.

Don't give up, Bernt, please. You're the best there is, the airplanes wouldn't be airplanes without you.

Well said, Glenn. I fully agree.

Look blik, do yourself a favour and shut up. You are being arrogant and down right disrespectful. If you think you "know" how it should work, you do "fix" it...
Concur. Poor show, Blik.

Hey Jim,
I thank you three times three! Much appreciated, you're generosity knows no bounds!

Dear Jim,
I also have the door problem. Would appreciate your fix very much indeed! Thanks up front.

Well said. I concur. As much as I admire what Orbx has done, I won't be acquiring any more of their sceneries for precisely the reasons you list. Cheers,FritzYou know it's funny, but I have never felt less connected with the Orbx stable than I do now. I think they have succeeded in killing the desire for what they do, by being so unreasonable with people who have invariably spent a small fortune on their products. They are no longer hyping their next release with a lot of new screenshots etc. in the forums and that is a further disincentive to go there anywhere as regularly as I used to. To say nothing of the now extinct hardware forum, which really was a great read every day. That said, you can't argue with the quality of their scenery (notice scenery, not aircraft ). I will always eventually return to each of the regions I own, which is all of them. I'm just not sure I have the appetite to buy any more. Somehow the excitement has gone.Times change and the PMDG 737 has got a very tight hold on me now. Having flown around Europe, much of it stock scenery, all weekend in the company of my new FS2 Crew First Officer, I can't see me doing much GA flying Orbx style for a long while.Maybe I'm an exception, but I think it just goes to show how the rot can set in when a corner of our lovely little hobby is taken over by what amounts to bullying and scant respect for the consistent support of some of the most enthusiastic members of the flight sim community. The loss of the hardware forum was a precise demonstration of their regrettable attitude. They had it all, then somewhere along the line their whole modus operandi acquired a mean streak and they proceeded to consistently shoot themselves in both feet. What a missed opportunity. The prevailing attitude over there seems to be that people will buy the scenery purely on reputation and its unquestioned excellence. I would argue that, in any selling situation, there is a certain art to maintaining and developing customer involvement and this is now completely lacking at Orbx. There are plenty of other developers offering excellent products too, and with total civility and the inclusion of their customer base. -
By the by, there are a number of UTX airports that can cause trouble in NRM. You can disable them in UTX by going to "Terrain > Modify Staus of Repositioned Airports". Cheers,Fritzahhh.. the culprit was ultimate terrain Canada,, I *.xxx out those cyvk files and all is good,, man that is a terrific area to fly into/around,, looks really fantastic. -
Yes, thanks once again, Bliksimpie. Looking forward to it.Cheers,Fritz

Thanks a bunch for the sound fix, Lifeguard! Much appreciated.Cheers,Fritz

Many thanks, Bliksimpie! Appreciate it.Cheers,FritzFritzI have send you a mail with gauge and instructions
:biggrin:Ta,Fritzooops, sorry -
Hey Bernt,No, no, I was referring to the gauge that would give me sounds for the switches. (Doug's gauge?) Your new FDE is a marvel and the 208 is a brand new airplane!Cheers,Fritz
-
I missed this completely. Would it be possible to point me to somewhere that I could get this gauge. Many thanks.Cheers,FritzOh, btw in case anyone is interested, I put sound to all the knobs and switches, thanks to Doug's great sound gauge. -
Just got the files and performed a scan on the Zip file with Avast. No problems found. It was probably just a false positive. Thanks, again, Bliksimpie.Cheers,Fritz
-
Thanks, Bliksimpie, PM on the way.Cheers,Fritz
-
Hey Bliksimpie,I'm getting the same "Trojan Horse Detected" warning. I'm also using AVAST. Do you think it's a false positive? I sure would like to have your modifications. Cheers,Fritz

Strange decision, given that Flight 1 just did the same thing. Yeah, an Aztec or a 207. (Better yet, a radial Otter. :( ) I glass cockpit 182 doesn't appeal to me at all. Cheers,Fritz

That's too bad.Fritz...I feel yer pain Fritz with the brain thing.

Yeah, the 185 and the 337 were bad enough, but this time they've outdone themselves. Trying to get things to line up across all the texture sheets is a nightmare. I, too, am waiting for the big lightbulb. Thanks, Larry.
