  1. I am looking for Fuel Tables for the NGX because I want to plan the fuel myself. I am not looking for a fuel planner, not FSBuild, not vroute, not TOPCAT, not the NGX FMC, or another software.

    I am looking for the Fuel Consumption Data that someone must have somewhere if such software was compiled.

    I am not looking for the Tutorial 2 either because that uses the FMC as the basis and offers me a general rule of thumb. I am looking for the source of that data the Tutorial was based on.

    Does anyone have any data, fuel tables, graphs or numbers, so I can make the fuel calculations myself? Old style pen and paper method, mileage, winds, and so on.

    Many thanks,

    Antonio

  2. I think there's some confusion here over what the reserves amount you enter into the FMC really is - sorry if I didn't make this clear enough in the tutorial:

    Reserves is not the value you're planning to land with and it's not the minimum amount you can have in your tanks. It's a variable amount of fuel depending on the specific flight in question that represents the point at which you are legally forced to divert to your alternate. If for any reason during a flight you reach your reserves value, you MUST divert because if you continued on to your original destination **you no longer have the fuel to make it to your alternate** while complying with the legal limits. If you got to LOWI and did two go-arounds or something like that and then got the USING RSV FUEL message, you HAVE to divert to EDDM even if you think you still have enough fuel to try again at LOWI. If you fail on the third attempt you now can't make it to Munich (legally at least) and you're going to be in a ton of hot water with your airline and the government regulators.

    Thank you Ryan for this info - it's very helpful for me.

    Reserves is "...a variable amount of fuel depending on the specific flight in question that represents the point at which you are legally forced to divert to your alternate".

    If I understand right it's not a percentage of trip fuel.

    Can someone help me out and make it explicit how I calculate it?

    I guess:

    Reserves = Alternate 1 + Alternate 2 + Holding + Contingency Alternates + ???

  3. Sad to hear Rod, expensive card and more problems.

    To Ceaser / Richard_T / Mr. Ken:

    I have "solved" the drop in fps by adding CycleHidden = True in the FSX\cameras.cfg

    The WideViewAspect=True

    Thanks to all!

    Rajah,

    Very interesting. What does the Cycle Hidden do exactly? Is the framerate drop related to the mouse pointer issue when you strettch the 2D panel over 3 monitors?

    Many thanks,

    Antonio

  4. Hello,

    I 've made a couple of panels in the NGX.

    Try playing with

    size_mm=xxx,xxx

    Best Regards,

    Bert Van Bulck

    Bert, hello.

    Have your attempts been successful? If so, would you mind letting me have a copy of your panel.cfg to try out? Just an idea.

    Daniel - thanks!!

  5. Hi Everyone.

    I need your help. If you run FSX over three monitors, by using either a matrox TH2GO or Eyefinity, you will know that when FSX is in 2D panel mode the mouse pointer will start flickering, framerates will drop, etc. The problem has been well documented on these forums and some geniuses posted the fix (thank you!). Editing the panel.cfg and reducing the 2D panels to one third will take care of the problem.

    If you own the PMDG 737 NGX and have edited its panel.cfg could you help me out?

    I have tried reducing every WINDOW in the panel.cfg by one third, in the window_size parameter, but I am obviously doing something wrong and I cannot figure out what. WHen I load the aircraft, the 2D panel will appear for a split of a second (shrunk by one third as I would expect it to appear) and then more data is loaded into FSX and the mouse pointer will go into the never ending flicker.

    If you know how to help me out please I would love to hear form you.

    Many thanks,

    Antonio

  6. Hi everyone.

    When I use the NGX with the Matrox triplehead2go to obtain 5040x1050 over three monitors I have no problems in the VC. However, when I switch to 2D view I get the mouse pointer issue talked about in other threads.

    I understand this issue is not a PMDG issue, nor a matrox issue: it is caused by FSX not knowing how to render the newly stretched 2D panel across to the new resolution.

    I managed to find the fix (and applied it to simpler planes). Reducing the size of the 2D panel by one third by editing the panel.cfg will tell FSX how to deal with the normal resolution x 3.

    My problem with the NGX.

    The NGX has a much more complex panel.cfg and it is not sufficient to change

    window_size= 1.000, 1.000

    to

    window_size=.333, 1.000

    in the main panel.

    Has anyone edited the entire panel.cfg to work with a 3-monitor resolution?

    Best regards

    Antonio
