  1. To some, half the fun of a car is fiddling with the engine. The majority of car owners are not so inclined. I feel that one of the major problems with uptake of modern sims is that the tinkerers are in charge, and don't have a clue why average people don't want to buy the nifty kit-cars.

"Just change out the flux capacitor, refraggle the Jeffries tubes and replace these josephson junctions and this baby will be great! Wait...... Where are you going!"

Some people enjoy flight because of its simplicity and the lack of the need to lug around a toolkit to use it. Luis stated he gets twenty minutes a day to fly. Some of us don't want to spend any of those minutes fiddling with the sim.

First I've never sold anything I've built for any sim. I understand most people don't want to fiddle just want to fly, no problem with that. What I have a problem with is blaming people that like to fiddle with it for the failure of Flight. I think there's only one person that deserves the blame for that.

    Steam & Game Stats Updated: May 19, 2012 - 11:17 AM

Flight isn't in the current top 100 today. #100 is Alien Swarm and has 543 current players also 543 is the peak for Alien Swarm today.

Age of Empires Online has 2,090 current online peak of 2,099

Batman Arkham City has 1,626 current online peak of 1641

I don't know if Steam counts Flight that wasn't purchased through Steam.

  3. One thing I haven't seen mentioned in this thread is that Microsoft games for windows, no longer exists. There hasn't been a peep about Flight since that division of Microsoft was closed / moved in with Xbox division. Even the Flight web sight hasn't been changed. You'd think at the very least they'd remove the games for windows tag.

  4. Been building scenery for FS since 98. I hope there will be other ways to add scenery besides a download from a online store. I've made about 80 gig of photoreal for FSX. IF the scenery won't work in Flight but IF I can run the data through the Flight SDK to get new bgl files (or whatever format they'll be). Anyone care to speculate if I'll need to upload 80 gig to a online store to share with a few people. Anyone know how long it takes to upload 80 gig at 256k? :) I won't be doing it nor will I buy Flight if this is the case.
