I have uploaded a PMDG (FSX/P3D) DC-6B repaint for Braathens S.A.F.E. (South American & Far East) Airlines. It was the Norwegian airline that Jan Stene requested and which operated from 1946 until it merged with Scandinavian Airlines Norway (SAS) in 2004 to become SAS Braathens.  This aircraft, LN-SUK, is painted as seen at Stockhoim-Bromma (BMA/ESSB) in August 1971.

The repaint in .ptp format is available at AVSIM at https://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=p3dacrp&DLID=200876

Thanks a lot David !!!!!  Realy a very nice painting. Just had my first flight with it from ENBR to ENZV. I like it a lot.

    Thanks again.

  2. Should be nice to see this old lady from the early history of Norwegian long haul avaiation. Braathens used to fly ship crew from Europe to the far east like Hong Kong and Singapore.

The main service center foe Bratthens SAFE was at ENZV so the DC-6 er was a regular visitor. Also Iclandair DC-6 was at ENZV often, as Braathens SAFE Technical services did the maintenance of these aircrafts.

So if there is a painter who would like to do it,  i have several pictures available. and I think a lot of Norwegian simmers will be happy.

  3. I have also had multiple application freeze/SD using the DC-6 (P3DV4). Happens during taxing and final/touch down. The last events from log.TXT upon freeze was:

I was unable to initialize audio from file e:\lm-p3dv4\Sound\PMDG\DC6\AFE/BeforeLanding/fe_2400_rpm_set, CockpitSounds::VolumePref::Voice.wav[37m

    2017/07/26 22:45:22 [PMDG 2]

I was unable to initialize audio from file e:\lm-p3dv4\Sound\PMDG\DC6\AFE/BeforeLanding/fe_carb_heat_cold.wav[37m...

Have filed a ticket to support.

Otherwise the PMDG DC-6 is a buitiful made product. Enjoy flying this fantastic aircraft.

    Hi PMDG team.

Thanks for a great product and the effort to make it available for P3DV4.

I have an issue to get the dowload to start from my account page after following procedure explained. After clicking the link, nothing happens, just spinning and waiting. Any suggestions...?

  5. PMDG,

Thanks a lot for all the efforts and skills you put into your products. The previews are incredible. The PMDG products are the "Premium"  simulation products by far. Really look forward to the date this wonderful bird will be available at your shop.  Had the opportunity to fly the B744 for some hours in a BA full motion simulator at Cranebank training center near Heathrow some years ago. In fact I find the B744 a relatively easy aircraft to handle (hand flying) in good flying conditions, and the view from the cockpit is something special.

  6. Robert,Thanks for sharing this great news. The plane looks just buitifull. I cannot say that i grew up with these planes, but as a 12 year kid at the time, there were still a few of the DC-6 and DC-7 in use in Norway were i live. I had the pleasure and opertunity at that time to regulary visits the hangars of Braathens SAFE at Sola airport outside Stavanger, and the first cockpit I have been in ever, was the DC-6. I still can remember the exotic smell and the mystics inside the aircraft and in particular the trill of sitting in the captain seat. Great and nostalgic plane.RegardsJan SteneStavanger, Norway
