  1. So I don't like how Airliners.net wants to have $25 so that you can post topics on their civil aviation forums except the Photographer forums.

So does anybody know any good free real world aviation forum website.

    Does Avsim have a spot?

  2. I looked at PMDG's support website but there isn't a place where you can submit a ticket. I looked at the their support forum on Avsim and i didn't get what i needed to do.

I found how to do a ticket. I made a account on PMDG support but i didn't verify it. Stupid me.

  4. Once again, you can't set your clocks to 4.2GHz, leave your board to it's own devices and expect it to be stable. You need to set your Vcore, Vcpu-nb, Vdimm, Load Line Calibration, RAM speed and timings manually so that you know everything runs within specs.By the way, 4GHz is not bad at all for a Phenom II but don't rush it. Until you're comfortable with the OC process don't push it beyond 3.5 - 3.6GHzCore Temp does not display Vcore, that's the VID. You need CPU-Z for example to monitor Vcore. Reset your BIOS to defaults, find a good guide, do some reading and start from scratch manhttp://www.overclock...ad.php?t=596023
I am taking my time, i got the CPu OC at 4.00GHz using prime 95 and core temp to see what the CPU capacity was. later i did a test at 3.9GHz and the dram was at 1333 and i used prime-95 and cpu-z and the volts was around 1.380. I went on Google and i could not ind a good guide and the guide that you gave me was little bit confusing. If some could break down the guide it would nice. The recommendations that you gave me Dazz is that i should put the DRAM at the 1600 and not put it at auto or 1333 and i should put the max Vcore at 1.5V max Vcpu-nb at 1.4V. If that is correct. I will not Overclock my cpu at 4.2 or something higher unless if i get a definite guide or answer.

  5. Leaving Vcore, Vcpu-nb, Vdimm to Auto is calling for trouble. Might work at moderate overclocks but shooting for 4.2GHz you should set those manually.1.5V max Vcore1.4V max Vcpu-nbVdimm / Vdram manually set at your RAM rated volts. Also set your RAM timings manually. If you downclock it to 1333 and leave timings to auto, your board could be tightening those timings and making things unstable.Have you checked your full load (running Prime95) Vcore with CPU-Z?My advise would be to try 3.6GHz and work your way up from there. Google some good Phenom II OC'ing guides and learn about Load Line Calibration, Vdroop, Vdrop, etc...
when am running prime 95 i have the program core temp running, it shows me the temp and the VCORE. I OC the CPU at 4.01 GHz and i left prime 95 running over night and all the cores was running at 100% capacity. i had the DRAm at 1333 MHz. i tried OC the CPU at 4.1GHz and the core would become unstable and i had the DRAm at 1333. it seems like the highest i can go is 4.01 GHz that is pretty pathetic i think. if anybody has a good guide on how to over clock a AMD phenom II X4 980, i would gladly appreciate it. I will also Google some guides also.

  6. # 4, 8, and 12 all say no new RAM.Not a single post here says get new RAM.Not sure where your confusion lies.
you have a point but i am very on what i should do. i appreciate alot of the suggestion keep them coming. If somebody has an Idea on what i should do please don't hesitate throw the suggestions at me. What I did to OC my AMD phenom ii x4 980 is that i put the CPU ratio at 20 and changed the DRAM to 1333mhz, that's it, nothing else.

  7. the problem is that i am getting TWO different answer the first answer is to get a MHz ram the second answer is that i should just stick with my MHz ram. i don't now what to do because i am getting two diffrent answers. I am willing to do anything that can make my OC stable at 4.2 or 4.1GHz. (may be not everything)I have read through this forum and the answer is that i need a 1333MHz ramI am not using the stock heat sink i am using http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/product.php?product_id=2729&product_name=GeminII%20S

  8. you don't need new RAM. Worst case scenario, if you can't run them at 1600MHz, your current sticks will run at 1333MHz no problem.Did you try unganged for 1600MHz?How did you overclock? complete voltage breakdown, and temps please,
yes i tryed to put the DRAM at 1333 and the multiplier at 20 and i left the voltage as auto. my max temperature was at 50c, i OC a intel and that went up to 75c.

  9. OK, then it wasn't the overdrive upgrade that fixed it for me. The only thing I could think of then is that I no longer start the weather engine automatically with FSX. And since I run FSX as administrator, I also start the wx engine as admin. Try if that helps. Otherwise I'm sure you will get more help in the REX support forums.
i am going to reninstall REX to see if that fixes it. it might

  10. wait, the thing that is bugging me is that when i overclocked my AMD x4 980 to 4.00 and i had the Corsair Dominator 1600mhz but i set the DRAM to 1333mhz and i got the overclock to work sort off but after a month i got a blue screen. This is not adding upi did testing and it was fine. but i was testing it with in 4 hours with prime 95.I talked to people at AMD and they said that the phenom series are 1333 and i have a 1600 installed in my computer so technically i am over clocking the computer with 1600mhz. I am so confused

  11. so the answer is that i need a ram that has 1333mhz not 1600mhz if i am understanding it correctly. so i found two Corsair ram on newegg but i don't now which one would be better http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145340 (i have the 1600mhz version installed right now)or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233190

  12. So i built a computer with an AMD phenom II X4 980 black edition (really good CPU for the price). So i have heard that when you buy a black edition it is a guarantee that you will over clock the CPU. Here is were i run into a problem i can not overclock the AMD CPU, i have overclocked an Intel and that worked fine. well it sort off isn't a problem because i think i found the problem. The problem is that i have a Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600MHz, it is brand new. Before i had OCZ dd3 MHz 4 times 2GB. I bought the corsair to see if i could over clock and get a stable over clock. So i Over clocked the AMD CPU at 4.01 GHz with the DRAM at 1333 and i got it stable for about 4 hours, I was using prime95. Long story short I got a blue screen when I was on FSX and then i put the bios at default. That was like a Month after when I Overclocked My AMD Phenom II X4 980. I made some research and people have a MHz ram with their AMD Phenom II x4 CPU and they over clocked it and got it stable. So this is my question the FSX hardware community those who has AMD. Will i get a more stable Over Clock if i buy this RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145340. I am very skeptical that i will get a stable OC because i have gone through the corsair Dominator and that was hopeless and my OCZ RAM.I would Love some feedback from AMD usershere are some forums that i foundhttp://www.techpowerup.com/142432/AMD-Readies-3.70-GHz-Phenom-II-X4-980-Black-Edition-Processor.htmlhttp://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=155753Specs:Amd Phenom II X4 980 3.7 Ghz Nivida Gts 2508gb of ram (corsair dominator DDR3 1600)ASUS: M4A487TD EVO Mother Board2x western digital 500gbCorsair 650 watt
