  1. My advice would be to get the computer and not worry too much about new components that will come out "next month". There is always better stuff "next month", but by then, you have enjoyed the rest of your hardware for a month less that you would otherwise.Of course, if say, a new graphics card that would increase your performance by 10% was coming out next week, then you might want to consider that. But they key is... by waiting, it's costing you more in terms of how much time you get to spend with it!
    Yes, yes you're right! Thanks
The 22" monitor shouldn't be a problem, no. I didn't realise you were going to buy it, i thought you just wanted an opinion about it :)In that case, i'd do what Mateusz suggested, purchase one of the newer models which have less power draw for more power delivered :)
Yes, I might wait...But if I use a 22" Full HD monitor with the mentioned video card, are you sure about the performance will be exactly the same as I would use let's say 17" (simply just: HD) Monitor?Thank you,Marwan

  2. I just would like to be sure wether I will be able to take this beautiful NGX iron bird into the sky smoothly (or I won't)Processor: Intel Core i5-2500k, Sandy Bridge, 3,1GHz, 4 cores, 6MB cache,3.4GHz turbo frequencyMotherboard:  ASUS P8H61-M LE/USB3 rev 3.0: new B3 revision Memory: 8GB Kingston DDR3 1333MHz dual channel Winchester: 2TB Seagate Barracuda LP 64MB cache SATA-3/6G Video card/VGA card: nVidia GeForce GTX 560 1GB DDR5 So is it able to run the NGX smoothly.I even would like to use Mega Airports, and fly with IVAO.Unfortunately IVAO helps the computer to lag...:( I don't know why...Thank you very much for your answers in adance too!

  3. your reserves should include the following: Reserve fuel = altn fuel + 30' holding fuelWhen you hit the reserve fuel (you should be at destination by that point otherwise you should've legally diverted!) you have little options left.Either the airfield is a good airfield with multiple non-crossing runways, and the weather is above minima (and you expect to start your approach in a reasonable (do-able) timeframe). Note that at this point you are committed to land at your destination. (this option is changing the FP to a flight plan without destination alternate for fuel planning)If not you will be forced to divert immediately to your alternate and be committed to land over there. If weather all around is too bad to land legally, you have done your homework wrong! (at this stage it would be REALLY wise to ask atc about airfields which are open and have decent enough weather minima...) Cost Index is a very mathematical figure. In airbus they say your cost index is a figure all in f.e. CI = 40 = 40kg/minbut again, it's very mathematical/statistical...there no rule but in general CI = 0 = max range ; CI = 25 = long range ; anything above is considered 'economical'(remember flying fixed Cost Index = NOT fixed speed as this will depend on wind / SAT/weight )
Oh, Thank you so much for your long reply!:)It is very useful!:)
Cost index is programmed based on an airline's preference. The higher the cost index the less effecient the aircraft will be, the lower vice versa. I usually go anywhere from 85-100. Since this is sim it is up to you. Reserves is how much fuel you will have after landing unless you use them to go to an alternate airport or get put in a holding pattern. Hope this helps.
Yeah it helped!:) thxEven one question: can anybody help me to change the panel lightning in the VC. It is too white. I prefer a bit orange shade in the background lightning.I saw a post about this, but now I cannot find it:(

  4. There was not enough fuel loaded for the planned flight including fuel for taxi, alternate airport etc. For example, using vroute, a PMDG 747-400F from EDDP to EGNX flying at FL360 with a payload of 100,000 lbs will need a trip fuel, runway to runway, of 26,430 lbs. Add taxi, alternate, final reserve, that goes up to 43,000 lbs.
    Ok, Thank you!:)Regards

  5. In Emirates, when the seatbelt signs go on, instead of a "ding" you hear what I can only transcribe as "harajjat, rapt, al hzimat al makaeb"... or something along those lines. I'm pretty sure a customer could order a 737 with "living la vida loca" as the standard chime (the problem is you'd have to hear it three times in case of emergency).
    Hahhahahhhhahhhhh :D:D:D:D:D:D:D LOLMy stomach hurts!!:D:D:D:D

  6. I think you misunderstand my meaning...at THIS moment, PMDG has much larger fish to fry. If it's indeed an issue, I'm sure it's on their list as it's been brought up numerous times already. Right now though, they've already said they must solve the activation and other serious issues...if you've seen Ryan's other posts, you'll know they are pushing themselves to the edge to get the major faults cleared up. That's all. ;)
Oh, yes, I understand you! Now they have got more important issues those are waiting to solve them! You're absolutely right!:)Regards

  7. I was going to say, hasn't this been discussed ad nauseum already? IIRC, there's about 5 other huge threads on this....or something like that. It's a "ding"...who cares. I'm sure those who can't even get activated would rather want PMDG focusing on other, more important things. ;)
PMDG focused more important things. NOT! PMDG focused the smallest thing during the developing of NGX! A good example: the stall warning test button is working and has got the real sound (as in the NG). So this is why I asked the attendant button's chimes. It is also a little thing, but why? Why it is not modelled as well as in the real NG?(* I am sorry, the Boeing engineers are not modelling the systems in the real Boeing aircrafts :D:D:D). *edited*
