Anyone having trouble starting the old lady?  Admittedly I haven't flow in a while but never had issues following checklist, when I engage starter and booster coil the prop spins idly and I don't get that lovely roaring noise from the merlins.  I'm following the startup checklist as per the manual.

    1. Gear Indicator Switch (battery) - ON
    2. Prop Control - FULL FORWARD
    3. Carb Air Filter - FILTER IN OPERATION (FWD)
    4. Fuel Tanks - ON
    5. Mixture - IDLE/CUTOFF
    6. External Tank - OFF
    7. Throttle - Open ½”
    8. Booster Pump / Wobble Pump - OPERATE UNTIL LOW FUEL PRESSURE LIGHT EXTINGUISHED, THEN SET OFF (BOOSTER)

For some reason the low fuel pressure light is never indicated red for me, it used too previously and using the wobble pump extinguished the light - I think this is the source of the problem?

    9. Primer - AS REQUIRED (see below)
    10. Starter Coil/Booster Coil Safety Covers - OPEN
    11. Mixture - AUTO (FULL FWD)
    12. Mags - BOTH ON
    13. Starter & Booster Coil - ENGAGE SIMULTANEOUSLY*

Are you using ground power? (Trolley acc)

  2. Finally got it updated!

After numerous tries at deleting the hung file, I tried the nuclear option and verified files this didn't work so I did a complete uninstall (including the fs files in c/app data roaming This still didn't work so I once more uninstalled and tried something different. This time when I uninstalled I also deleted any reference to flight simulator in Local as well as roaming data. I also decided to install into a different folder. I had been using D/MSFS2020 so I changed it to D/MSFS and it worked! Now i have no idea why it worked but I thought I would post here what I did anyway in case it might help some one else. The only downside is that by uninstalling the entire game again I was left with six and a half hours of downloading to get all the updates back. I hope I don't have to do this for every update going forward.

At this point, if you have tried everything, I think you should get help from the MSFS support team.  I believe you need to file a Zendesk report to get help from an official MSFS support staff.

There is also an MSFS Discord channel that you can try.  And there is the official MSFS forums of course.

You may well have a point. I have also posted on the official forums about this issue and I don't think Zendesk is all that helpful as they tend to just point you to their support articles which tell you to try all the things you have already tried.

Besides, if the Dev teams are so "all over" these forums as they would have us believe, then they would be aware that this problem is still ongoing and at the very least acknowledge this and let us know if a solution is actually being sought.

probably useless post on my part because you tried everything already and i read that you have reinstalled the full sim without success which is even more painful but, if you haven't done already, you should maybe try to delete only the fs-base folder that is in your official/steam folder.

I also have the steam version and had the exact same problem that you describe with the WU7 update and that's the only thing that fixed it for me. Make also sure to disable your anti-virus / anti-malware / anti-ransomware software for a few minutes during the update to make sure it's not interfering (avast was an issue for some users, although it was not for me).

good luck, it's a pain when you're stuck with those updates 😥

Yeah, I thought about this too and tried that very option but I am still having the same problem I am pretty sure that this is being caused by the fact that there doesn't seem to be a fs-base-1.218.fspatch file (it has fs-base-1.217. and 219 but no 218)

EDIT: just in case anyone suggests it, I should also point out that I tried  stopping the download and deleting fs-base-1.219.fspatch.001 to try and force it to find a 218 file but no luck there either.

  5. One thing I have noticed is that when the loop starts it no longer goes back to fs-base-0.1.205.package.001 but starts again at fs-base-0.1.206.patch.001, also the following files in the download are all there in numerical order from fs-base-0.1.206.patch.001 till fs-base-1.222.fspatch except fs-base-1.218.fspatch which seems to be missing from the list. Now I am wondering could this missing file be the reason the whole fs base portion seems to fail? I think It seems like it downloads everything then tries to decompress but when it finds fs-base-1.18.fspatch missing it just goes back to try and download the entire thing again.

Edit : as the loop restarts , the last message to show up is definitely "Decompressing fs-base-0.1.206.patch.001" this message comes up very briefly before it reverts to downloading fs-base-0.1.206.patch.001 I am pretty confident the absence of fs-base-1.218.fspatch is the cause of the stall and loop but I don't know how it can be resolved without access to the missing file.

  6. I am using the Steam version of MSFS Premium deluxe and I cant get the update to work I get stuck while downloading fs-base-1.21.fspatch.002 . It gets to 100% And then reverts to fs-base-0.1.205.package.001 This keeps repeating over and over.

Now before World Update 8, a re-install has always cured this problem but now with this latest update even a re-install is not helping. I am at a loss as to what to try next and need any help I can get. Does anyone know what causes this problem and how to properly solve it?

  7. Steam version here and once again I am stuck in a downloading/installing loop  It seems this has been happening for the last three or four updates. My only remedy that has worked so far has been a complete uninstall and re install. This is getting old pretty fast. I think I have pretty much about had enough of this frustration.

  8. I have run into a couple of problems while setting up the rudder and elevator trim controls in FS. When assigning the rudder controls, I selected right rudder trim and then start scanning. while in scanning mode I moved the wheel forward and it registered Number 9 as expected I then hit validate and repeated the procedure for left rudder trim and it came up number 10. So far so good. I I then selected apply and save but in the sim nothing happens when I move the rudder trim wheel.

Also when it comes to the elevator trim set up I can't seem to find an option for setting nose up and nose down trim. All I can find is either toggle elevator trim or set elevator trim, each of which only accept one input. so how do I get it to accept one input for nose up and another input for nose down? Any help on these issues will be gratefully received. I should also point out that both trim wheels have been properly calibrated.

Unfortunately no, there's no possible binding.

If you are interested in knowing where you are flying though, you can use this

That's a shame. I was hoping there was a way we could maybe just press a button to highlight place names rather than having to download and have a separate app and have it running in the background. Surely it wouldn't have been so difficult for Asobo to implement one more key press?

Working fine here on my SU7.

Are you flicking on the little switch on the throttle base? THere's still something wrong here, though, as moving the throttle to full should trip the little flap at the end.

My pet peeve is that the gunsight always starts as selected ON/illuminated - even when entering cold & dark.

Yeah thats what I thought. That moving the throttle forward should flick the switch.
