  1. Hi Dillon,Your article was most informative and helpful and, having followed the process, FS9 in now working in Windows 7. I have used FS9 since it was launched and have invested heavily in add-ons over the years, so am not keen to dump it and move to FSX. Windows 7 seems to be responsible for the fact that FS9 panels, which worked excellently in Xp, have now developed 'the shakes' and knobs and switches dither, sometime so badly one cannot fly. I have been told by the hardware guys (I thought it was my graphics card or drivers) that this has something to do with DirectX 11, but I cannot prove or disprove this theory, because it is impossible to re-load DirectX 9.0c on the Windows 7 platform. The installer says a later version of DirectX is installed and halts the process.Perhaps you might know of a solution to this problem, other than reverting to Windows Xp SP3, which seems to be a retrogressive step.Regards,Quentin Moore
  2. Thank you for the suggestions. I am still using FS9 and have now solved the issue by removing all PMDG files from my computer, then first restoring FS9 from a backup and doing a fresh install of both the 737NG and 747-400 aircraft from the setup files, along with NavData, etc. The planes are now back on track! Must have been a corrupted file somewhere. However, the above action is a time-consuming process and I'd still like someone at PMDG to explain whether the tracking problem is related to faulty IRU's and whether the comment/instruction in the Abnormal Procedures section of the 747-400 manual under IRS CENTER, LEFT, RIGHT, (section 6/37) to update the heading in the CDU POS INIT page applies. I would also like to learn how to do this, if such a procedure is, in fact, modeled.Quentin Moore
  3. Thanks for the response Dan. I have run Flight1's registry repair tool without success. What beats me is that PMDG have said that the IRS Heading may need to be adjusted from time to time and they even say where to do this, but not how. I am also now experiencing this tracking problem with the 737NG. The plane does not follow directly over the magenta flight path, but tracks to the right of it. It is also frustrating that an uninstall and fresh install of the 747 has not cured the problem. Which file/s store the IRS data, because they don't seem to be removed with an uninstall. I would appreciate some help from the experts at PMDG.Quentin Moore
  4. Can someone please explain what is the correct procedure for setting the IRS heading in the 747 FMC. The procedure for aligning the IRS's has worked faultlessly in the past, but I suddenly find that the runway heading in the ND is several degrees out of alignment when lining up for takeoff. I have tried switching the IRS knobs to ALIGN and ATT, but when entering the correct heading in all three IRS's, the ND responds by showing the correct heading for the runway, but this doesn't stick, the ND shows TRK in yellow and the EICAS shows yaw damper and no autoland errors. I cannot find any help in the manual, other than a comment in Abnormal Procedures to the efffect that the IRS heading should be reset in the POS Init screen. Perhaps there is a very specific way of resetting the IRS heading and I would be very grateful for help on how to do this.Quentin Moore
  5. Thank you very much for your explanations. Never a day goes by I don't learn something new! Quentin Moore
  6. What is the meaning of ILS Z and ILS Y on terminal procedure charts? Quentin Moore
  7. I want to create a new weather station in FS2004 for a new real world airport. Can anyone show me how this is done so that the new wxstation shows with its "hour glass" symbol in FS2004 map view and so that my weather program (FS Meteo) will recognise the ICAO code for the airport? Perhaps an XML template is available.Quentin Moore
