How can I clear the FMC and enter a new flight plan?

Recommended Posts

After completing a flight, is there a way to clear the FMC and enter a plan for a new flight? I know that I could simply load a previously saved plan, but what if I want to program a new one from scratch? I found that even if I shut down the engines, turn off the IRUs and turn off the battery, when I bring the system up again the old plan is still there. The only way I have found is to clear it is to switch to another plane and then switch back to the 757. This works, but it does not feel very realistic. Anyone know the secret? The manual does not seem to cover this.Andrew

Don't know if this is modeled in PMDG's 757, but if you re-enter the Departure and Arrival airports on the RTE page you should be able to clear the FMC.Jon (KSEA)

I believe the way to "clear" your FMC, at least on the real unit (and the way it works on the 767PIC), is to press DEL (to make it go to the scratchpad) and then press the button next to your origin airport. This will completely remove the previous route from the FMC.Michael J.

That works on the 777, should work in the 757 too.Preston

Deleting did not work. Every time I tried to delete it, it gave me an Invalid Delete error (smae thing with waypoints). However, I was able to pupload a new a new destination on top of the old one from the scrachpad and that seems to work. Andrew
