October 29, 200223 yr I have installed the Fly! 2 - simulator only a few days ago and have also bought and installed the PMDG 757. I patched/upgraded the simulator according to the informations on this site to version 230. I deleted the *.HST-files from the aircraft-folder and the default.* - file from the system-folder (I found NO autosave.*-file). I used msconfig to get rid of my Norton-Antivirus-2002 - installation. Still there is NO WAY that I can fly the PMDG-757, it is ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE to use Fly! 2 and the PMDG 757! EVERY TIME I fly the PMDG-757 either my computer crashes completely (happened once) or the Fly! 2-programme crashes with a runtime-error (happened approximately ten times until now)! In the beginning I was able to fly for about an hour until the programme and/or PC crashed (though I could not land the 757 once until now!) but now the programme crashes after 5-10 minutes already. I was really looking forward to flying the PMDG-757 (the only reason, why I bought the Fly! 2 simulation at all!) and hoped to compare it to the PIC-767 (which I have used since it was released for the first time for FS 2000) but now it seems that I only wasted my money for the Fly! 2 - simulation and the PMDG 757! What
October 29, 200223 yr Commercial Member Walter, what is your default aircraft selection when you start up Fly!II. Make sure it is NOT the 777 or 757. Let us know if this does not help/apply.VinPMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.vinscimone.com/dancnkid.gif Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
October 29, 200223 yr Many thanks for the quick reply :-)The default aircraft at the moment is indeed the 757. I will change this and try to make another flight. I will report my "findings" later. I really hope it will work now!Walter
October 29, 200223 yr No luck! Things did "improve" - I was able to fly for an hour or so...but then - programme crashed again (NO landing once again)! Runtime execption code c0000005 (EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION) at address 77F42109 File: winrun.cpp line: 165As I only used the 757 until now I wonder if this will happen with a default-plane, too? Is this rather a 757-problem or a Fly! 2-problem??? Seems to be really a fatal-error...Walter
October 30, 200223 yr FIRST SUCCESSFUL LANDING! Finally I WAS able to complete a flight! What I did was:a) Completely uninstall Fly! 2 .:( Re-install Fly! 2 on drive C (previous installation was on drive H!)c) patched Fly! 2 (version 230)d) installed PMDG 757e) DID NOT install the nav-updatef) DID NOT install the global updateg) DID NOT install any additional liveriesh) deleted the *.HST-files and the default.* - filei) used default-aircaft for the default start-situation Does anybody from the PMDG-team know which of the above steps could have eliminated the programme-crashes???HOWEVER this nevertheless became THE MOST DIFFICULT FLIGHT OF MY FLIGHTSIMULATOR-LIFE! :-) Three times the flaps extended to 1 during flight for reasons unknown.Twice the autpilot disconnected for reasons unknow. I guess the simulator-pilot is NOT allowed to leave the cockpit during flights in Fly! 2!I did...and when I came back the 757 was in a steep dive and the wings were damaged. I don
November 1, 200223 yr I FOUND THE CULPRIT!!! In case anybody is interested in it: I found out what caused my Fly! 2- simulation to crash: it was the global update! It didn
November 4, 200223 yr WalterInteresting findings. I have the global update applied here and I'm not seeing your frequency of crashes.Re your auto-pilot disconnects - Check that your joystick is not spiking. The 757 sees this as a control input and disconnects.Andrew Luck18 miles SW EGSH
November 4, 200223 yr >Walter >>Interesting findings. I have the global update applied here >and I'm not seeing your frequency of crashes. Without doubt the problem was the global update here. When it was installed on my system my PC or programme ALWAYS crashed after about an hour. Since I re-installed Fly WITHOUT global update I have had no crashes anymore! However I have the German edition of Fly!2. Maybe that
November 10, 200223 yr Commercial Member Hi Walter,We're happy you got it flying reliably! Now go out and enjoy it! :)VinPMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.vinscimone.com/dancnkid.gif Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
