Vector based avionics

Featured Replies

Hello PMDG team,First, let me tell you how enthousiastic I am for the coming release of your fantastic 737. Can't wait! After reading your faq on the 737 1 question still remains with me:Will the 737 have vector based avionics? With this i mean the technology Flight 1's Piper Meridian avionics offers. I just can't do without this smooth and precise movement of the EADI this technology offers! With regards,Lennart van Opbergenthe Netherlands

Dear Lennart-If by "vector based avionics" you mean that our EFIS displays will be done using vector graphics, the answer is a bold and profound YES.If you speak technobabble, I will say also that the displays are drawn in separate threads from the internal FS draw mechanism, to achieve even further smoothness. In effect, you, the user, can even control the frame rate individually for those displays, and completely separately from the internal FS frame rate. Go back a couple months in the forum postings and you can see what I am talking about in various screenshots.Best regards,

YIHAAA!!!! :-jumpy :-jumpy :-jumpySorry Lefteris, I just let myself go, won't happen again. :DJust very pleased to read your reply on the vector graphics. This technique improved my flightsim experience by a full 100% when flying the Meridian so I'm very pleased that it is used in my favorite jetliner too! Can't wait.Best regards,Lennart van Opbergen
