N 1 and taxi

Featured Replies

Hi, Could taxiing be made on idle or we need N1 up to 40 or 50 % to move the aircraft in the taxiways?Coimbra

Hey, That is a very good point. I find it annoying when I have to increase the throttles for more than 40% just to get moving, regardless of aircraft weight. I think the PSS A320 is quite good at this as well as the PA A320 and the iFDG 757. I realise that I have to give a bit of throttle movement to get going, but not mroe than 40% because of the danger of blowing things over at the back and how uncomfortable it is for passenger. You never know, they may thinking they are taking off from the terminal when you apply that sort of thrust! Over to PMDG guys...

Check out this thread from the pic767 forum ,it has been succesfully done on this aircraft and it does work great, without seemingly any other penalty to performance. http://forums.avsim.com/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=15836&page=3

This is a know *issue* within flight simulator itself. We got lucky with PIC 767 with some help from the forum members comming up with a work a round that really wroks without messing with other preformance like climbouts etc. Hopefully Century Of Flight will address this issue so it's not such a problem. Anyway, PMDG knows what they are doing, I have faith in their work![h5]Best Wishes,Randy J.
