Editing SID/STAR files

Featured Replies

Dear PMDG,First of all, I would like to thank you for creating this wonderfull piece of art.Secondly, I have a question about editing the SID/STAR files.I'm nearly finished with creating the complete SID/STAR database for EHAM (Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, the Netherlands). Unfortunately I found out that there are a couple of FIXES missing in the PIC767 database, so I'm unable to include a couple of departures and arrivals. Now I was wondering, in the SID/STAR files you can find this:FIXESENDFIXESIs this where you can put the missing NAVAIDS for the airport? I have tried using the same input format as used in the 'GATES' section (for example 'FIX EH081 N52 25.2 E4 50.4') but that didnt work. Am I using the wrong format, or is it there for something else?Regards,Joost

Here's the syntax as posted by Anthony:Upper case is part of the syntax and is required:id=the name you give the fixnb=numberThe two ways to define a fix are:FIX id COLOCATED NAME nb nb FIX id LATLON nb nb nb nb So an example of each:COYOT COLOCATED PXR 336 45This means the fix COYOT is defined at the PXR R336 radial, 45DMECOYOT LATLON N 34 10.07 W 112 09.49That should work...Ryan

Hi there Joost.I'm trying to make a contribution and building up all SID/STARS for Central America. From what I've been trying around, I don't remember needing to add or insert a waypoint. But analyzing the format of FIXES and ENDFIXES, you type in the FIX-NAME-COLOCATED-VOR-RADIAL-DISTANCE, i.e. one found at LSZH FIX LIR COLOCATED GVA 326 11I might be wrong but you can give that a try.Gustavo B.Copa Virtual Airlineshttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/21035.jpg

Thank you for your replies...I succesfully located both FIXES (EH081 & 082) by using the 'COLOCATED' syntax. Here's what I did:FIXESFIX EH081 COLOCATED SPL 035 6.3FIX EH082 COLOCATED SPL 061 10.2ENDFIXESSIDSSID PAM2W RNW 36C NAVAID EH045 FIX EH081 FIX EH082 NAVAID PAM NAVAID IVLUT NAVAID ARNEMENDSIDSRegards,Joost
