July 8, 200322 yr Hello to everyone...I have asked this question for severel times but never got an good and clear answer. So I ask again.I would very much like to buy the new 737, but i don't have an state of the art computer.(AMD Athlon 1600+ 256MBRAM 32 MB shared videocard)Is there anyone with this specifications, OR someone at PMDG who could tell me or it is worth buying the 737thanks in advance...William
July 8, 200322 yr Totally personal view, but with only 256 of memory I would expect you to get severe performance problems.- Pete
July 8, 200322 yr I could increase the RAM to 512MB, but would that be enough to have a 'smooth PMDG 737'??Mayby someone at PMDG could clear things up a bit more?
July 8, 200322 yr I've got a AMD1600+ with 512 and a 128mb Video card and I'm having no problems running it apart from the already known issue in the virtual cockpit. everything else runs fine at 20fps or more.As well as the increase to 512 in Mb I would say personally that you will have to up the stakes in your video card from 32Mb.Paul Mercer.
July 8, 200322 yr Just curious... how long does the aircraft take to load fully on your system when it is selected?
July 8, 200322 yr On selecting the aircraft in the create flight in FS this can take up to 30 seconds. From the time of hitting ok in the create a flight in FS to the time I can use the aircraft I've timed it at just under 50 seconds.I've tried it on loading with standard airports and with some addon ones which do eat fps anyway but the lowest fps I've had is 16 with everything maxed out but using the NG in the 2D only mode.Paul Mercer.
July 8, 200322 yr Commercial Member You should be able to run it, but you may have to lower many of the scenery sliders. I am personally running on a p4 1.7 with 256mb and the airplane is totally useable, but I do have to sacrifice some visual candy outside.VinPMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.vinscimone.com/dancnkid.gif Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
July 8, 200322 yr Message to Paul: what kind of system do you use?? I bet it's far better then mine(see messege 1)To Vin: Thank you Vin, i think I just have to try it out:)Praying it runs okayWilliam
July 9, 200322 yr My system is home made never brought one yet off the shelf. But it's just a AMD1600 with 512MB memory 30gb hd and a standard 128mb GeForce video card & running Win 2000 Pro.The only time I had an issue with framerates on the same machine was when I changed the videocard for a ATI version with 128mb ram. For some reason I managed to loose 5+ fps when I installed it so reverted back to the GeForce card.I have also found that a good regular defrag of the hard disk also helps keep the framerates up. But this would be more needed on a regular basis if you did a lot of downloading and deleting of stuff.Paul Mercer.
