FMC/CDU messages

Featured Replies

In my opinion there are three inaccuracies with the FMC/CDU messages:- First, and slightly annoying because of the extra workload, is that if you clear a message on the CDU, the amber FMC alert light will stay on- Second, there are different categories of messages. The advisory messages shouldn't cause the amber FMC light to illuminate in the first place, only the alerting messages do. - Finally, why doesn't the white CDU MSG light on the CDU itself illuminate.I know these are no major problems, although like I said I do mind the extra workload involved with the first issue enough to mention it. However, the fact that this sim stimulates this kind of in depth analysis on my part should be considered a compliment :-)Leo Bakker

Hey Leo, do you know by any chance where I shold click to ba able to use keyboard input to write in the scratchpad? Thanks,Bjorn

Sorry, I've been wondering about that myself too! I guess for things like that we really have to wait for the much anticipated manuals!Leo Bakker

Click on the far right-hand side of the keyboard on the FMC, you'll see the pointer change from the arrouw to the hand.

The name aint Leo but hey , who's looking ;-)On either side of the FMC next to keypad there is a vertical black bar. If you click the right one ( or maybe the left aswell, never tried) you get a KBD sign to the right of the inputline. This means you can use your keyboard. Press ESC to end input from your keyboard.YohWillem

Thanks, without a manual I was really wondering about that!Lee Hetherington (KBED)

>Hey Leo, do you know by any chance where I shold click to ba>able to use keyboard input to write in the scratchpad?>Open the FMC. On the right hand side of the scratchpad is a black arewhere the mouse ico should change to a hand. If you click in that area, a message KBD in white letters with grey background should appear in the FMC display. Now you can use the keyboard to type in everything you need.Have fun!McNobody/Chris

Thank you very much guys!Regards,Bjorn
