July 21, 200322 yr I think I have jumped through every hoop...but I am still unable to get any data or flightplan loaded in the FMS/CDU. Here are the steps I have taken:I downloaded and installed 767PIC_all_0304.exe in the C:Microsoft GamesFS2002FMCWPAIRAC folder. After executing the file, I ended up with a NavData folder located in C:Microsoft GamesFS2002FMCWPAIRACNavData and inside the NavData folder are the various wpNavAID, wpNavAPT etc. text folders as well as the airports.dat file. The above was done in the above manner based on a posting in the forum, from which I quote:"Install it to the {FS DIR}FMCWPnavdatathe NG should pick it up and you'll be all set" Unfortunately, I don't think NG is picking it up as there is no data whatsoever when I start up...Can anyone tell me what I am missing?I also downloaded/installed FSBuild update 1.4.3..generated a flightplan and exported it to:C:Microsoft GamesFS2002PMDGFLIGHTPLANSand the flightrplan is there....Now how do I load it into the CDU???Looking for some help on how to get this thing working...
July 21, 200322 yr I think you have to use the request route - button on the FMC....Don't know the exact wording of the function, but I think it's on the Route - page, REQ RTE or something like that.Put the name of the flightplan into the scratchpad an press the relevant line select button...At least this is how it worked on the PIC...The manual should contain more information on this, however...But I think PMDG said that they will release an addon manual for the FMC...regards,Joerg
July 21, 200322 yr >C:Microsoft GamesFS2002PMDGFLIGHTPLANS>and the flightrplan is there....>Now how do I load it into the CDU???On the 'RTE; page. You have to enter the route filename (minus the extension) into the scratchpad (using the keypad), then click on the 'CO ROUTE' LSK. The route will load then.http://www.fsbuild.com/dl/pmdgfmc.jpgRegards.Ernie.
July 21, 200322 yr Ernie,I downloaded FSbuild 1.4 and upgraded it to 1.4.3, and added the fsbdata file. No problem making flightplans and exporting them (with 737NG checked). Also no problem loading them into the FMC, but they never get right regarding the destination airport, and sometimes the waypoints are wrong. Any ideas?Pic shows flightplan supposed to go from ENVA to ENBR...
July 21, 200322 yr Send me the .rte files, you created and I'll take a look.I don't seem to have the 'VNG' Navaid you are using in my database [email protected].
July 21, 200322 yr Thanks Ernie,I sent you two "bad" flightplans, and one I made manually with the 737 FMC and PIC navdata, this one working perfectly. Hope it`sjust me missing something :)
July 21, 200322 yr Thanks Ernie! So now I have the flightplan loaded and I get the "NOT IN DATABASE" erro message - at the same time the screen flashes (the part that shows the outside view only).Looks like the main problem is that the FMC/CDU cannot find the directory where the database is located... (see my initial post).Anyone have any ideas on how to do this trick? http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/24682.jpg
July 21, 200322 yr If it says "NOT IN DATABASE", then it cannot find the KLAXKSAN.rte file in your FS2002/PMDG/FlightPlans folder. Its unlikely its having a problem finding 'the directory where the database is located'. There is only one place it will look, and that is the FS2002/PMDG/FlightPlans folder, so make sure your .rte files are in that folder. and verify the filename is correct.Regards.Ernie.
July 21, 200322 yr WRONG!!!!!!the data (all these text files) should be under:C:Microsoft GamesFS2002FMCWPNavData(if that's the right path of your FS, or perhaps there should be a "program files" somewhere on the way??)// Mike
July 21, 200322 yr EUREKA!!!Thank you Mike!!! That was it. The NavData has to be in:C:Microsoft GamesFS2002FMCWPNavDataPerhaps this should be bumped to the top as I am sure other new PDMG users will be looking for this info:-jumpy
