How do you clear the FMC??

Featured Replies

Hi all,After you complete a flight, how do you clear the FMC? I've tried everything that I can think of. I can delete all the data, but can't enter in a new route in the route page because I can't get it cleared. Even after shutdown. After completing a flight, and going for another, I can't get the route page and FMC to clear itself.Does anyone know how or have any advice, I appreciate it!Thank you,Brian G

BrianOn the RTE page press the DEL(ete) key and after that the LSK1 key (I think). Anyway, you clear the FMC by deleting your departure airport.Hope it helps,

Hi guys,While the above-mentioned method will clear the route, it won't clear a lot of other variables that were put in. I myself don't like to use the FMC after completing a flight, I rather start a new situation, because I have found that some systems do not reset entirely which in my experience has led to some surprises on second flights. In real life the FMC clears itself after touchdown of both the route and most other variables.Leo Bakker

Mats and Leo,Thanks for your responses. I agree with both of you. Mats, on your point, I have tried this and it doesn't seem to work at all at least for me. That leads me to Leo's comment, I'm not sure if it is working correctly on the 737NG. I know how it is supossed to work from flying other Boeing competing model. It is just such a pain loading a new flight situation from how long it takes to load etc.. That's why I was trying to just shutdown and go at it again.I'll try deleting it route again and see where it gets me. If not, I'll just re-load.Thanks again.Brian

"In real life the FMC clears itself after touchdown of both the route and most other variables."The only thing I've found to remain in our FMC's is Route 2... and of course, all the default settings programmed by the engineers ;-)Cheers.Ian.
