August 1, 200322 yr You are doing nothing wrong. 737s cruise a few degrees nose up.Lee Hetherington (KBED)
August 1, 200322 yr am sorry missing a 0 my A/C cruising 10 degrees nose up!!!!!And am loosing speed!!!
August 1, 200322 yr Thomas, You will need to provide DETAILED flight information for us to understand your issue and to help you ;). What altitude were you at? What speed? Were you using only the A/P without the VNAV& LNAV? While the 737 does have a slight nose up pitch in crz, the nose will raise higher if you are too slow for a particular config etc. Under 10000' try 240-250 knots, above this try 300-315 for crz. August 1, 200322 yr I was at FL390 engines running at full thrust and A/P LNAV mode with ALT engadged.but my nose was high like hell if it wont help i ll try to reproduce it tmrw with some screenshots!Thanx Thomas Mezei
August 1, 200322 yr Gross weight? Mach?I'm guessing you were way too heavy to be at FL390. I can't remember if the OPT FL computation works on the FMC. It might not. If it did work, it would recommend the optimum flight level at your weight.Speed dropping makes it sound like you were using V/S, which has no speed protection.Details. Details.Lee Hetherington (KBED)
August 1, 200322 yr FOR THE CLIMB I WAS USING THE V/S. THAT WAS THE PROBLEM?hOW SHALL I CLIMB OTHER WAYTHOMAS MEZEI
August 1, 200322 yr LVL CHG is the preferred way. It guarantees airspeed and gets as much climb rate as it can. This is basically what VNAV does. With V/S, it will sacrafice airspeed to achieve climb rate, and if you dial in too high a climb rate, airspeed suffers. Not having enough details, it sure sounds like that is what happened to you.Why not VNAV? How did you pick FL390?Lee Hetherington (KBED)
August 1, 200322 yr There is a simple 737 NG rule in this regard, First, for LARGE altitude changes always use LVL CH, for small altitude changes use V/S. This is what real world 737NG drives are taught..[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J.
